Portfolio Up - Custom Cartoon Logos & Illustrations...

Well, I just finished the initial version of my online portfolio at:

Julia's Online Portfolio v.1.0

and am ready to start accepting commissions, finally! I know it's a little bare, but I wanted to get it up ASAP and I will add to it as time allows. I'm hoping to add some non-exclusive cartoon content in the near future as well, so I'll keep everyone posted.

A quick sample:

Very nice! :thumbsup

Ironhorse 05-25-2004 01:22 AM

Looks great babe :thumbsup You can double those prices easily also.

MissGrim 05-25-2004 01:25 AM

Well, I'm still fairly unknown in the community, so I want to keep my prices lower at first... people are willing to pay more for work they trust and need incentives to take risks with unknown artists. I just figured out how much I wanted to make an hour and then estimated the times...

Julia, I LOVE the work that you did for my site! Stunning! :thumbsup

JDog 05-25-2004 01:51 AM

Hey MissGrim, how much is it to make a cartoon character of somebody? Like I give you a pic and you make me into a cartoon??

JDog 05-25-2004 01:52 AM

Found it! Duh! How quick is a turn around?

MissGrim 05-25-2004 01:55 AM

Well, like it says in the pricing section of my portfolio (hint, hint =P) a single person illustration is fifty dollars for plain cartoon or anime style, and an additional 50% of that (seventy-five dollars total) if you want art nouveau style. It helps if you have more than one photo to reference, too, since just one photo can give an artist an inaccurate impression of a person they've never met.

If you're interested, all of my contact info is listed within my portfolio, and you can see some of the samples where I've already turned a couple of people into cartoons of themselves...

Hehe... yeah, I tried to keep my layout fairly simple at first. =P

Turnaround depends on how many orders I have... currently I'm only working on two other projects, and turnaround could be as swift as twenty-four hours or less.

X37375787 05-25-2004 06:30 AM

very nice work Julia, I'll be hitting you up for some work, soon.

MissMina 05-25-2004 06:38 AM

Fabulous! I will be contacting you soon after I get back from vacation to discuss some cartoon logos :)

MissGrim 05-25-2004 11:12 AM

Wow... thanks for all of the compliments! I've been fairly poverty-stricken for a while, so I figured that instead of scrounging for money and feeling bad about it I would just get my portfolio up ASAP and see if I couldn't get some honest work. =D

Plus, drawing naked people is so much more fun than when I was a "real" graphic designer (before my health went downhill) and I was forced to draw things like tires and buildings. Pfft.

MissGrim 05-25-2004 02:07 PM

Erm... bump? =P

Two jobs so far that I am working on right now, still room for more before the weekend...

BradM 05-25-2004 03:35 PM

Julia is an honest and hardworking individual. She has my massssssive cock of approval.

hentaibee 05-25-2004 03:46 PM

nice. girl style :-)...you could improve the shading on the naime style images a bit and dont call your normal style with inserted anime eyes anime style..anime style involves more than just anime eyes ... shading is totally different and such...I just had to say this , no offense.. other than that, no complaints :)

digifan 05-25-2004 03:51 PM

Wow, that's a nice site, congrats and good luck :)

Halcyon 05-25-2004 04:06 PM

Fast work. Highest quality. Easy to work with. I couldn't be happier with the illustration she did for me. Highly recommend.

nastynun 05-25-2004 04:19 PM

Julia was great to work with. The best thing you can do is just give her a little background about yourself (if you plan to have your own toon done) And a picture. I left the rest up to her! She did a great job. I will use her on a regular bases for projects.I'm so happy to find someone who is easy to work with and really seems to know what you want without asking 50000 questions :-)

Nasty Nun aka Princess Mandy:thumbsup

iDiz 05-25-2004 04:22 PM

Not bad ! :thumbsup

No offense taken, but just so you know I can call any of my styles anything I want. I think anybody could improve anything that they do, but keep in mind that the samples on my site are a sample of what a potential customer will get for the price that I quote. I don't really think that what you have in mind when you think of an anime-style illustration is worth only $50.00. If I'm doing a project for myself (where time and payment are not issues) or a project where the customer wants more detail and is willing to pay for it, of course it's going to turn out better than the standard, inexpensive option... but what I show for sample work on my site has to match what I'm willing to produce for the price that I charge.

JDog 05-26-2004 01:41 AM

Here's mine, I like it! :)
