proftpd problem
 

i've installed proftpd on my server but after i login with a ftp client and i try to upload or create files/directories i get an 505 Permision Denied message.. what can be the problem? :(

you don't have permission to write to the directory or over the file. you need to either chmod or chown that bitch via ssh!

is not that because i get permission denied in the root directory too.. also, i can create directories from ssh but from ftp i get permision denied

im not sure how to fix it without having access to the server. sounds like a job for your host :helpme

Thats pretty normal.
You should never ever be able to upload in the root directory
unless you're looking for trouble.
All ftp servers deny root access by default.
