Thanks a LOT to EscortBiz

I followed your advice on the speed uploader x774 that you mentioned in yesterday's thread regarding 56k upload speeds.

So I went to the electronics store, and luckily they still had some. I asked the sales person about cable modem compatibility and he showed me the cable modem compatible version x874.

Installed it, it plugged right in between the cable modem and the wall outlet... I must say I am very pleased with the results:

This shows a file transfer between me and my friend in Cali, who's on a really fast dorm line.

Thanks EscortBiz for pointing it out, uploading movies will now be a real treat, especially when not having to deal with 50KB/sec uploads anymore. :thumbsup

There might be a compatible version, I am not sure though. You might wanna check the local RadioShack.

No, someone used to work as an engineer for a cable company and knows DOCSIS and Provisioning standards like the back of his hand.

Time Warner Cable... Road Runner.

Hot damn this shit's so hot, it takes a few seconds to upload large movies, I'm loving it. Was only $79, too.

So, If I'm running a 3MBS/520Kbs cable connection
and uploading at 66kbs, what can I expect with that appliance? :)

I got it setup about 2 weeks ago and it's working extremely well, I read about in one of the tech newsgroup I subscribe to, there was a quite detailed description of the technology, and it seems like it will be even faster with the new algorithm.

Of course it is...I'd love to throw a deep post on here about how it's just impossible for this to happen...I could go into the technical schematics...but why bother?
