Should my girl get involved in my new biz
 

I've got this mainsteam idea that's pet related and I'm thinking about creating a site. I was thinking about naming the site after my dog and hers... this idea has serious potential! NO ONE ELSE IS DOING IT! If the relationship works out, I don't mind doing 50/50 cause she's gonna be a part of it... if it doesn't, Am I obligated to give her 50% of the biz?

*yeah shore... I think you can split money with her if she is willing to invest in your project and work with you.

how much is up to you, her and how big potential you think

I wouldn't give her half.. nothing but headaches in store.

Let her help and spoil her with the extra money you make would be what I would do. :2 cents:

Yea, I may do this... cause it was my idea before we met but naming the site after our 2 dogs would be a good marketing angle

I agree with Brad but maybe buying her stuff isn't realy good. give her some cash but 50% is realy too much

If it doesn't work out this can turn into total choas and your idea will go nowhere someone else will use it and make money of it while you and your girlfriend battle it out in court.

I do well in this biz... been in it for almost 5yrs but there comes a point where having a mainstream biz on the side is a good idea

I agree, If your relationship ever fails you're screwed...

I'm not even comfortable sharing half my biz with my wife, let alone a girlfriend.

I would say, until/unless she is married to you, don't partner with her.
You're asking for problems.

50% is right out. If you feel the need to give her stake, give her a lower percentage but... keep it all if you can and just offer her $.

From the sounds of it, its your idea you know how to make it work and she'd just be "helping" so... dont give too much.

Just buy her stuff. Do NOT give her 50%.. if you break up, you'll regret it..
