how to get around the login@pass:url syntax error

I know there is a way to re-enable it. Anyone?

well first off I think you should try
login:pass@url
not the other way around..

Start regedit.

Go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_HTTP_USERNAME _PASSWORD_DISABLE
to re-enable it for the entire machine,

or go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_HTTP_USERNAME _PASSWORD_DISABLE
to re-enable it for the logged in user.

Now create iexplore.exe and explorer.exe DWORD values and set their value data to 0.

Done, you just got the user:pass@ functionality back.

Impossible. It was a security flaw, and it has been patched. Do you know how many different username/password combos I have seen in my logs for paysites and affiliate programs? I could have changed 100s of ppls pay to my addy with their info. It was a security flaw, it has been patched.
