Search on GFY idea
 

Ive seen it done before on large boards where to search people pay a monthly fee.

I'm seriously considering writing a script to download X amount of pages of threads and writing my own local search script. It's getting out of hand here not being able to search.

Im possible for now considering Google has spidered GFY, ive been trying to use google using GFY keywords to do searches.

Its truly annoying.

I love to run my mouth and post all day, but believe it or not I do MANY searches and am always digging for info, and with no search this forum becaosme useless to me.

its as simple as that.

they could have easily built a solution

just put one of those images with a word in it, and u have to type it in for verification. it would eliminate bots

Yeah, that would actually be cool, but they would have to write a custom mod for the board script, and I dunno if that's all that possible.

Would love to share it but I think Lensman would freak about it.

I just find it totally mind boggling that with the revenue this place generates a solution can't be found.

I am beginning to believe its because the "revenue" generated around here is by underage kids registering for pics and 18 year old "I SALE CHEAP DESIGNS FOR PS2 GAMES" people who only come here for whatever other reason

Am I the only one noticing its only people like us, the older crowd here, as well as the veterans complaining.

I dont see anyone else complaining, just those of us who actually try and do business around here.

once i put all that into perspective it starts to become clear why nothing seems to be done.

no one really matters, from you down to the newbie that just registered, if we did matter at all, the one fucking function a board should have would be allowed, the search, but its not.

I enjoy posting here, but its MORE THAN A SHAME its this way, and that I CANNOT SEARCH INFO THAT I HAVE POSTED! let alone shit other people have posted.

I don't know how long Lens plans on being on top without taking care of his board at all.

I am enjoying using this board less and less... no search function and you can't call it a board anymore - simply useless.

btw, someone mentioned using Google to search GFY. I almost wet my panties. Only 618 GFY pages indexed. Fucking pathetic.

I found out quickly using google to search GFY is useless as well.

I can remember when Google wasnt even allowed here, now it is and te search is gone

I miss the search function too, but there's a site out there that allows you to search several different boards including gfy...




It works decently, but not as good. Am I the only one who's heard of it??? (Can't post url, its banned) ... but you should be able to find it.
