i go around europe all the time with a backpack that has patches on it and one of them is an American flag. No one cares..you are just one of ten trillion other people to do it.

I know quite a few Dutch guys. Even had two of them come live with me in Canada for 6 months.

I don't think any of the Dutch guys I've ever met have had an aggressive bone in their bodies. Pretty layed back for the most part.

People would see you simply as another attention seeking American.

Americans love to stand out in a crowd while Europeans tend to prefer to blend in. Thtat's why Americans are generally louder than people from other parts of the world. They think that what they have to say is so important it might as well be broadcast to all those within earshot.

At least that's my experience after spending over six months in both the USA and Europe.

It's not a slogan it's part of the US national anthem. I don't think it's meant to imply the US is the only land of the free or home of the brave. I'd love to travel to Europe. Amsterdam in particular.

Stressed I'll believe .. But Aggressive I've not seen with my own eyes. I guess my sample set is quite small .. I only know 5 or 6 Dutch people really well. I have run in to Dutch people, while travelling, all over the world. Costa Rica, for example, has a large Dutch population.

The Dutch people I've met, have been for the most part polite and friendly. Some of the least aggressive people I know.

Okay then avoid fluroescent colours in Europe. Only Americans wear lots of bright orange, purple or pink.
