they are out there it's just not as common to see them on the East coast. Here is a map showing unprovoked Great White attacks in the US. Most of course are on the west coast but a handfull are on the east coast.

FiReC 05-22-2004 10:44 AM

too bad they didn't have a fake seal to drag behind their boat. Whites look badass when they jump out of the water to attack their prey!

TheEnforcer 05-22-2004 10:49 AM

More confirmation that anyone who swims in the ocean is nothing more than shark food!! :helpme

Heh, so I am sitting a resturant when I was living in San Diego and my buddy who managed the joint used to race in triathalons on a regular basis.

He was telling me that for the swim portions of the races, there oftentimes would be a couple of sniper teams in the hills from Camp Pendelton watching out for sharks and taking them out if they verred into where the thrashing of swimmers were.

While reassuring to him, you couldn't get me anywhere near the water after hearing that. :1orglaugh

Damn.. no way in hell. I've never set so much as a pinky toe in the ocean and have intentions of ever doing so!

Jeff aka NIGHTfall 05-23-2004 09:15 AM
