There is something about being a dad, and bonding with your kids.

Those of you that were around a few years may remember when I was able to bond with my then 18 year old daughter by going to an Aerosmith concert together. It was a great way for a father and daughter to bond. Rock and roll.

Well, tonight I had a true bonding experience with my 20 year old son.

He had been working all day, I had been gone all evening. After parking my bike at my friends house I noticed that my cell had a message for me. I checked my voice mail, and my son had left me a message.

Seems he and some of his buddies were going to a local club and he wanted me to join him.

So, my son and I went to our first strip club together. Can a father and son share a more special moment?

Definitely a Cosby moment

Yeah, it is pretty cool when your kids think enough of you to feel comfortable asking you to go to a rock concert or a strip club with you.

I know I never would have invited my dad to either of those events when I was 18-20 . . . .even less likely now.

Because my father has never cared about my life. When I was a child all he did was come home from work & drink. Then he would use the excuse that he had one beer already so he couldn't do anything! He also left my mother & I three times for other girls in europe. So I have no respect for him!

And I figure since I didn't need him as a child, I don't need him as a adult.

That's how I would love a relationship with my kids, if/when I have some. I've always wanted that father/son relationship that I never had.

Thanks for sharing your story. This is yet another reason why there should be LICENSES to be a parent. Hell, people need a license to drive, have a business, etc But to be a parent (perhaps the GREATEST job in the world) no need for a license....

Do you listen to Tom Leykis? He's been bringing that up alot recently.

Yea, I can go with people needing licenses to have children, cuz there are a lot of fuck ups out there that shouldn't ever have children!

That's awesome man...

It's got to tell you something when your son invites you out to a club when he's out with his friends there already :thumbsup

Pro lacrosse? I had no idea

gornyhuy 05-22-2004 10:25 AM

Coooool...

I would NEVER do something like that with my father, but in about 16 or 18 years maybe my boy will call me up on the brain-implant communicator and invite me to the holodeck sex shows...

baddog 05-22-2004 10:29 AM

Yeah, it would have been a true Kodak moment, except they did not allow cameras in there
