Looking for the BEST place to stay in Hawaii

Where's the best place to stay. Cost isnt a factor.

I'm thinking somewhere in Maui

I checked out:

The Fairmont Kea Lani Maui
Grand Wailea Resort

Maybe Boneprone knows..

The last time I went we stayed at the Turtle Bay Hilton, but that's Oahu North Shore.

You could rent a house on the ocean. :2 cents:

Depends on what area of Maui you want to go to. I just stayed at the Hyatt Kaanapali and was thoroughly impressed. Its right on the beach with a killer pool and is the closest resort to the happenin little town of Lahaina only a couple miles away. http://maui.hyatt.com/property/index.jhtml

Lahaina rocks.
Best Halloween I ever had was there.

It depends what you want but you can't really go wrong unless you go for a $40 room in Waikiki or something.

Narrow it down to Island then hotel

Oahu. Population center, so most people and most tourists but also most nightlife.

Maui. Not anywhere near as crowded. Has Haleakala extinct volcano, road to Hana and plenty of snorkling, windsurfing, surfing spots

Hawaii(The Big Island). Active volcano. ditto on beaches

Kauai. Less people still. Popular with Honeymooners

Molokai. quieter still. lucky if they have Internet there

Ask Amp if he will rent you his house. He seems to be quite amenable lately. :)

I agree, although I'm not sure about what Lahaina's like on Halloween. I've been Maui, Oahu, Kuai, and Hawaii on a cruise, but if I had to pick one island to stay on all week it would be Oahu on Waikiki. They have everything there so you won't be bored, but it's not over-populated so you are still able to relax. I recommend the Moana Surfrider hotel (Sheraton). The rooms aren't anything special, but the location, beauty, and historic Hawaiin feel can't be beat.

just my :2 cents:

No matter where you go in Hawaii it will probably be a blast, so have fun!

Basically deciding what island will be the main factor. Other than that, if your on one island you can practically reach any area around the whole island without to much trouble. I would suggest Oahu or Maui. If you want nightlife and more exicitement Oahu should be your choice. If you want a slow pace of living and some beautiful tropical atmosphere go to Maui. Oahu does have it's tropical spots but most are on the North Shore.

That is indeed a beautiful hotel.

I love Waikiki but some people say it is too touristy. I like being where the action is and if you want a quiet beach you can always find one within 30 mins drive.

There is always The Royal Hawaiian. (The pink one) That is 5 star also and was the first on the beach

When I miss Hawaii I always checkout the live streaming cam from Waikiki :glugglug
