Why doesnt dreamweaver recognize HTML when its pasted?
 

God this is annoying - i remember the old dreamweaver that was smart enough to recognize HTML and insert it properly whereever i pasted it.

now it will act as though the html is 'text', and all "<" and ">" get convereted into &lt;

wtf - why cant it see its source, and not text?

Try pasting into notepad then dreamweaver.

no luck, i have to click the stupid "code" button in dreamweavern ,select where to insert it and then paste..

isnt there an option to fix it?

there's a paste html function now. ctrl shift V

Set view to both code and design, highlight the numbered rows of the code section so that it appears blue (usually single click on the number column will work), paste HTML.
