Offline advertising - anyone doing it?

I'm starting to think about it ... get a nice sized 'back page' ad in a paper with 120K circulation for $40. Advertise something 'free' that can be played off as 'not porn' like a webcam sponsor ...
One signup and ya break even. Then replicate, just like anything else. Sounds nice, but I got a feeling it's been tried and proven worthless, otherwise I'd see others doing it, no? Any thoughts? -P |

All I can say is that if it works you just found another way to generate traffic. If it doesn't, you lost just $40. Go for it!
(Make sure the domain you'll advertise is short) |

We advertise in AVN to other webmasters, but not to surfers. We have seen decent results in the past from AVN advertising.

 Some billings do it.

We have tried advertising in local entertainment papers and it never eally seemed to do much but for $40 it is certainly worth a try. Good Luck with it.

The BIG text is $19/line, Medium is $14/line, small is $12/line ... Yeah, I'll probably go over $40, but not by much.
These are the prices for this local weekly-published paper, for ads appearing on the special 'back page' of their classified section. I know most others are more expensive, but I figure this will be a good test, and if it works at all ... *shrug* -p |
