I don't really know what the difference is besides the fact that English is frowned upon up that way. I don't put much thought into it really.

I am a french canadian from quebec. But I hang out a lot with english people from Ontario...some differences are obvious...We are three young french girl friends from quebec are all dating english mens from Ontario....

- English canadians are more cold. ( Exemple, in quebec, girls kiss on the cheeks when they meet someone...I some english guys feeling really weird about it)

- Our boyfriends call us "HFG" for Horny French Girl. In fact, the three of us are complaining that we are not having enough sex. I need to run after mine because he cant keep up and doesnt want to do it more...In fact, in quebec, all my girl friends are telling me they are the "man" in the couple...:helpme

- English girls are fat. ( From my bf point of view) He likes really skinny girls, and he says that in Ottawa its almost impossible to find some...not in montreal.

- English people are cleaner. Just go to Ottawa for exemple, you'll see how beautiful the streets are, the parks, no garbage...In montreal you see a lot of junk, graffitis everywhere, vandalism.

- Ottawa poeple are driving better than Montrealers...

I dont think quebecers would want to separate if that would be true...By the way I dont...:) I love english canadians. Just happened to be raised in a French family.

It depends on which French-Canadian you speak to, but I would say there is no difference except for the fact that they have a adopted a completely different culture than the rest of Canada, they are much more European. So many of them would probably say there is a difference, but hell, we're all Canadians in the end!

Plus, french canadians are ALWAYS anti-american, and usually anti-canadian ;-)

After living in Calgary, and living in Montreal, I can say with authority that French Canadians are NOT sexier (unless you just like the accent..), and are not friendlier... (in fact, French Canadians tend to have LESS common courtesy; less thank-you's, etc...)
Sometimes I feel bad that a lot of American's initial Canadian impressions are generated in Montreal...

And French Canadians are definately worse drivers ;-)
Plus, the political scene in Quebec sucks ass...
As for cheek kissing, that happens in Alberta with the girls too..
And, unfortunately, with the guys in Montreal!

Stop spreading misconceptions to the Americans. Everyone knows all Canadians live in igloos. The only difference between French Canadians and English Canadians is that the French use poodles to pull their dogsleds, and the dogs all say "Le bark!" instead of a regular bark.

In realistic terms . "french-canadians" is the same as "french-americans" they represent about the same amount of people as one legged albino hermaphrodites in usa..

some of my best friends are french canadian, and they are great people - but i live in western canada and politically speaking there isn't much love from either side to the other and that's obvious to anyone who lives in canada - french or english.
