What effect does keywords in the domain name and page name have on the ranking algorithm if any? Would you consider it a main factor in rankings or one of the lower factors?

Keywords in the domain name, not a big deal.....keywords in a page name makes a difference.......check your ICQ Charles.

How much less does a keyword in a second directory filename count? Third?

does that count more than

or how about

Yahoo sends about double that and here's where to start:
Create standard keyword optimized pages, make sure you provide at least some free targeted content to surfers (hint: don't spam) and yahoo will send you targeted traffic. Rinse and Repeat:thumbsup

i have had no trouble with yahoo, google is being a bitch lately though....everything i have on yahoo is in the top 5 for my search term, but google on the 6-7 page

I would say its the PR networks we can build that sets us up better equipped for Google than Yahoo. But I'm not certain.

same here, i got 1 domain getting around 4k google traffic but maybe 20 from yahoo.

Need to find out how to get a username/password and what they charge. I'm sure it can't be free otherwise everyone would be hopping on board.

I have thousands of top listings in yahoo, just like before they dropped inktomi a couple years ago... not much has changed

I've got my own username and password, I'll look into it and let you know. Also, I'm basing that figure on what I do with other traffic sources that we both use but will remain nameless here. The profit from those for me is about $5k a month.
