Rich 05-21-2004 02:56 AM

That's what Republicans do, spend every dime possible on defense and then loose wars to prove that they have to keep spending more. I don't know if it's a plan or if they're just to stupid to win wars, but that's what they do.

I know you are busy hating Bush and all but if you read it again it says....

"The House overwhelmingly passed a $422 billion defense bill "

Overwelmingly meaning a large majority that included both Republicans and Democrats.

aimeesweet 05-21-2004 10:44 AM

Our defense budget is more than that of the next 20 nations' defense budget combined...

in the l.a. area, a lot of elementary schools lost their music and art programs - and three emergency rooms have been shut down, including my favorite one.

maybe we could spend our money better here than fighting elsewhere... our education was already down the tubes, and our jobless problem is pretty critical.

besides, a lot of these billions come from loans, in effect. after bush has long since left office, we'll have to pay them back with interest... while we are jobless and undereducated :-(

you think republicans are the only ones who waste money? :1orglaugh
it doesnt matter who the president is, he'll always find a way to throw it down the shitter. if not on war, on something else in an attempt to win votes. gray davis, although only the governor of california showed how this game is played. if kerry is elected, im sure the debt will go down. we'll be paying %25 more in taxes, but the debt will go down. :1orglaugh

Roger 05-21-2004 03:41 PM
