I get depressed for no reason

This statement is true.. you can have all the money in the world and still die lonely and depressed. Money does not buy intellect, intelligent loving women or pride. Of course it buys the material toys we have all became accustom to but it's a lonely road when you have the best toys and all of your friends are poor drug addict slobs that can't see past their futile life.

Mr. Marks 05-20-2004 02:12 AM

Now, I'm kinda depressed too.:(

I've been really depressed myself for the passed 6 months or so, for no reason really. It sucks.

reynold 05-20-2004 02:18 AM

That's why you must have someone to share life with. :2 cents:

It's definitely true that money doesn't buy happiness... I never have any money (at best I make less than a thousand a month, total) but I would say I'm happy most of the time (and the rest of the time I'm just content, usually). I wouldn't know what to suggest... knowing what makes you happy and making that happen can be a hard thing to grasp. Pets can help your mood, if you like animals...

I thought, maybe in the meantime, depressed people without pets could kind of borrow mine:

You won't get the cuddling and purring you'd get in person, but you won't be helping me clean out the litter boxes, either. =P

Holly 05-20-2004 02:47 AM

It's probably from all that weight you lost.

Money doesn't buy happiness, it just help to get material things to make you think that you are happy when you aren't.

There are still some things that would make you smile at times when you thought you'd never smile at all.

DanielS 05-20-2004 03:59 AM

Try aropax, you can buy it online without prescription also. A friend of mine took it in the past, he was so happy he started running naked on the street and did not care about anything.
So, don't abuse it

1. just wait for the after-life.

it's lots of fun.. trust me.

2. take a week off and live in the
nature or do something that YOU like.

I recommend 2.

Good point. Sometimes you just need to deal with the nonsense to recognize the love.

Tia, no I am not a drug addict. I had my stint with marijuana and have been to rehab. Ive always wanted to do something better with my life but I cannot get my friends to do the same. They are stuck thinking partying and ruining their body is the only resort.

A lot of good posts here, some terrible ones too though. Overall there are a lot of nice people on GFY, Miss Grim I appreciate your posts.

That's what I thought hon.. let me tell you that I've been where you are. I quit doing drugs and drinking over 10 years ago.

One of the hardest things I had to do was get new friends. Hanging with the same crowd is something that just doesn't work when you're trying to stay clean. I know you feel for them, but you need to feel for yourself more and break loose.

From time to time I get depressed too, and it would be so easy to go back to the old lifestyle, but I've made that nearly impossible now by changing my environment. I couldn't find drugs now if I wanted to.

I don't know how long you've been clean, but it takes time to get back to what's normal for you. But believe me, once you do life can be very very good.

I'm living proof of that. I wake up every day excited to get to my work and I love every minute of it. It can be that way for you too.

Jolly Rancher 05-20-2004 10:14 AM

no reason ?? you have plenty of reasons to be depressed

Yes I understand exactly. Right now I feel like I'm depressed for a reason because I have shut out those people. I can do nothing for them and they constantly call me asking if I will be going out that night. My answer is always no I have work to do. A lot of them stopped calling and some don't get it. They keep asking "why have we not chilled in so long" sometime soon I will have to tell him it's because they get drunk or high each night and my new lifestyle does not involve that. I am happy you got out of your mess and mine got so bad I was letting others control my business. I have since correct my mistakes and I really do hope to keep myself clean from drugs.
