Can you live without a dishwasher?

I don't think i could live without a dishwasher anymore - ok the BEST dishwasher is someone else doing the dishes, but baring that - no fucking way am I ever doing dishes my hand. I had an apartment once for a year without one - HELL.

Yngwie 05-19-2004 10:47 PM

we have someone who comes in daily to do the important things. :1orglaugh

KRL 05-19-2004 10:54 PM

I eat nearly all of my dish required type meals at restaurants. Its much more relaxing then taking all that time to cook, clean the mess, put away leftovers, etc.

So hardly ever unless people are over.

Kimmykim 05-19-2004 10:55 PM

Damn, I thought you were telling me I was getting dumped by my cleaning lady.

eroswebmaster 05-19-2004 10:56 PM

No...I love my nieces dearly.

newsdude 05-19-2004 10:57 PM

Of course I can!

SlickRick 05-19-2004 10:59 PM

Whats a dish washer I have paper plates. :)

pornJester 05-19-2004 11:00 PM

I probably could, I always clean my dishes right after use with hot water and the handled sponge thing (that fills with soap). Then I put them in the dish drying rack and use them again. The dishwasher maybe gets used once a week when feeling lazy or when we have alot of used glasses from having people over.

webgurl 05-19-2004 11:00 PM

good Question .. my answer is YES , i eat out ALOT so i don't do the dishes often
but i have one now so its nice :thumbsup

Ate off of them for years when i was single...

sumphatpimp 05-19-2004 11:01 PM

only time I ever used a "dishwasher" was in Air Force basic traning back in 1968. was a big long machine looked like shuffle borad table. you put dirty dishes in one end and clean dishes came out the other. broke a lot of plates too. I didn't give a shit, I wasn't paying for them.

bawdy 05-19-2004 11:02 PM

no... plus he pays half the rent... biatch

C_U_Next_Tuesday 05-19-2004 11:02 PM

Never had one.. hubby wants to buy me one, but I can think of something else I would spend $500 on...my hands work just fine.

Oh Sheila 05-19-2004 11:03 PM

I AM the dishwasher in my house :(

Vitasoy 05-19-2004 11:03 PM

Probably not, the dishes will just keep on stacking it would be hell.

Jman 05-19-2004 11:20 PM

Nope

Semi-Retired-Dave 05-19-2004 11:21 PM

I have two in my house and I have never used them.
I should sell them on ebay, I wouldn't miss them.

smokingdawn 05-19-2004 11:22 PM

Sure I can live without one...but I would rather not

EviLGuY 05-19-2004 11:53 PM

Might as well start doing your laundry by hand too.. a dishwasher to me is a requirement these days.

They have come a long way from the old shitty dishwashers that didnt get the dishes fully clean too.

i can only eat sooo many restrauant meals before i NEED something home cooked - i start feeking sick if i eat too many days in a row in a restruant.

wdsguy 05-20-2004 12:03 AM

I never use the dishwasher

WiredGuy 05-20-2004 12:04 AM

I've never had a dishwasher, I've always done it by hand. As long as you do it shortly after you eat (when the leftovers haven't solidified yet), just water and a quick scrub is all it takes. Plus I never let it build up so it usually takes 1 minute or less.

Diswasher? I'm at my summer cabin, we don't even have indoors toilet or running water.

pure energy 05-20-2004 12:10 AM

What about your son's 8 o'clock PB&J sandwich snacks?

Mr. Marks 05-20-2004 12:19 AM

I can certainly live without a dishwasher.

amaze 05-20-2004 12:29 AM

love my dishwasher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:glugglug

Elli 05-20-2004 01:08 AM

I think kids may be a deciding factor, here. I don't mind doing dishes for two or three or the occasional dinner party, but if I was doing dishes for four including snacks and lunches and messy sticky kids' food, I'd need mechanical help.

wielco 05-20-2004 01:11 AM

i still dont have one:)

Yep, I think I'm better off overall without a dishwasher. I don't mind loading them, but DAMN I hate unloading. It's just easier to do the dishes as they're used and then put them away.

But bring a dinner party or a scrungy (I learned that word from an ad!) pot into the situation, and it's a whole other story...
