These things are getting complex. One of my employees got this in his PC also. We got rid of it we thought completely and it came right back again.

So they must be loading files all over your system so that it can keep rejunvinating itself no matter what you delete to try and get rid of it.

PatrickKing 05-19-2004 05:33 PM

I had the same problem a few days ago
I did a win- dows update and updated my ad-aware
Ran the scan a few times and problem solved, seems there has been an increase in spyware, malware shit lately.

Sly_RJ 05-19-2004 05:34 PM

My other computer is a complete worthless piece of shit right now because of spyware. It's so jammed up the Internet can hardly be accessed from it.

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/index.html

Download HijackThis. Run it and hit scan. Look through the Run entries and you'll find somethiing that is loading the spyware. usually it'll have a strange name. Delete it and reboot

It shows you the low level register entries and everything that runs when you start up your pc.

If you're not sure what to delete, post the output here and I'll help

also this might help

How to Remove I-Lookup?

I-Lookup.com has its own uninstaller on its site buried in a FAQ. Click on the link below to download and run the I-Lookup.com uninstaller.

http://www.i-lookup.com/uninstall.exe

If you have installed the latest version, use the following link instead:

http://www.i-lookup.com/uninstall2.exe

If the automatic removal program used by the creators of the software doesn't work, the best way to remove it is to use some spyware removal software, among them we would greatly recommend the shareware program Pest Patrol.

How to manually remove I-Lookup

1) Open the 'Downloaded Program Files' folder in the Windows folder. Right-click the object called 'I-Lookup.com Bar' (Ineb and Abeb variants), 'GlobalWebSearch.com Bar' (Gws and Chgrgs variants), 'SearchBus.com Bar' (Sbus variant), 'GlobalToolbar.com Bar' (Drbr variant) or 'Search Bar' (Bmeb variant). Click 'Remove'.

2) Next, open a DOS command prompt window (Click Start->Run, type COMMAND(for windows 95/98/Me) or CMD(for NT/2000/XP)) and enter the following commands to unregister related DLL files.

For the Ineb variant :

cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u Ineb.dll

For Gws variant:
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u GWS.dll

For Chgrgs variant
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u Chgrgs.dll

For Abeb variant
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u abeb.dll

For Bmeb variant
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u bmeb.dll

For Sbus variant
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u sbus.dll

For Drbr variant
cd "%WinDir%\System"
regsvr32 /u drbr.dll

3) Click Internet Options->Programs->Reset Web Settings to get the normal search sidebar back, reset your homepage, and delete the extra bookmarks added to the Favorites menu.

4) Remove registry entries.

Click Start > Run, type Regedit and click Ok to open the registry editor. Expand the folder of HKEY_CURRENT_USER and then Software, locate the Ineb folder and delete it.

:thumbsup

I already found it after searching google for "i lookup uninstall", but thanks anyway :thumbsup

I finally got this thing removed, and I'm going to spend today for cleaning up my pc from all the shit, because my memory is all filled up.

It feels so better without this i-lookup thing..this shit was just horrible.
I'm gonna install some firewall program as well. Which one do you guys use?

and in there System Internals is a registry cleaner.

For Windows XP Ad-aware works better at spotting spyware.

You also need to run CWShredder: (zipped)
check for update, click Fix button.

For the entrails you need HijackThis (zipped):
post the log if you don't know what to check off.
