Friggin PayPal Just got us

not sure how exactly, as we have been overly carefull with billing everything from a non adult company, but they got us :feels-hot

anyone that has had this happen know how long they take to release the funds to you? says up to 180 days, which sucks...and as always, they are impossible to get an answer from.

the indigo 05-19-2004 12:58 PM

You can't trust anyone on this planet, so it's probably one of your client.

that's possible, but it if were, wouldn't they risk getting thier account closed down too?

my first guess was a 'competitor' narc'ing.

DreamCumTrue 05-19-2004 01:01 PM

damned paypal

Phoenix66 05-19-2004 01:10 PM

It's getting boring. I mean all these threads about PayPal shutting down your accounts. Indeed they shut down all accounts that are not following their TOS. It's quite obvious.

They are assholes only because 1,5 year ago they spammed their ass off to attract adult webmasters into using their services and then they said in May 2003 to all of them to fuck off.

But you can't blame them for closing accounts that are not following their TOS...

Call them. Talk to them nice. You'll get your funds released in 3-6 days, not 180.

bdld 05-19-2004 01:12 PM

its simple dont process adult with paypal, period.

tried that twice and were told the only way to handle it was thru email :( will be trying again every day until we get an answer ;)

Raven 05-19-2004 01:14 PM

Ebay bought paypal. Paypal didn't arbitrarily decide to stop processing adult. Ebay did.

They gave us several months to get over it.....and on June 12, 2003, they started actively shutting down accounts that dealt with adult.

They have better customer support now, so call them. They will release your funds.

blazi 05-19-2004 01:18 PM

I'll never fully understand what Paypal has against the adult industry... boggles my mind. although, I guess they don't really need the $$$, but still...

TAMPA_TOKER 05-19-2004 01:18 PM

Good luck with paypal. I had $6700 im my paypal account at one from my ebays sales at on time and they froze it. After 3 months and 2 lawyers letters later they released my money. No more paypal for me

And, yet, Ebay has a mature section. Go figure.

you say that, but most people have paypal accounts and its an easy way to send small amounts of cash around

FTVGirls 05-19-2004 01:22 PM

hah, we had $300 left in paypal when they ended adult services a year ago. Guess what, it was just a month ago when we were finally allowed to take out our remaining $300.

180 days my ass, it was more like 10+ months. Good thing it was only $300.

yeah, we used them because of requests from clients. We still have several seperate backup accounts that will use in small doses as needed though. Just got our merchant accounts setup though so we do not see any problems. other than getting the $$ they have tied up...lol

He even admits he was doing what he could to hide the account behind a non adult one. Then is surprised when he gets caught, wonder how he feels about people breaking his TOS.

Creating additional Paypal accounts is a freaking pain in the ass:

Dear XXXXX,

PayPal is committed to maintaining a safe environment for its community of buyers and sellers. To protect the security of your account, we employ the most advanced security systems in the world and regularly screen our system for unusual activity.

Recently, our Account Review Team identified some unusual activity in your account. Per PayPal's user agreement, we have limited access to your account until this issue has been resolved. This is a fraud prevention measure meant to ensure that your account is not compromised.

In order to secure your account and quickly restore full access, we require some specific information from you. We encourage that you log in to your account and restore full access as soon as possible. Maintaining limited access to your account for an extended period of time may result in further limitations on the use of your account or eventual account closure.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Please understand that this is a security measure meant to help protect you and your account. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Sincerely,
The PayPal Team

Mine was shut down too. Got the money in a week or two though... Fuckers....

collegeclam 05-19-2004 02:09 PM

im assuming you had your account setup with no affiliation to any website, just your name.

however, someone may have referenced your site/s when they paid for something. there is a place to make comments or something i think, and i usually put something funny in there, like purchased talking fish hat for dog, or something retardedly stupid that has nothing to do with porn. but, you cant control what people write, you can only suggest that they dont mention any sites.

Webtitan, here is what we did when we got shut down (we had over 8k in our account)

We issued refunds to all our buyers that had sent us money in the past 30 days. Paypal still allows you to issue refunds even though your account is in limbo.

Then ask your buyers to resend that money to you through cheque, epassporte or another paypal.

We did that and we only left $7 in our old account.

I'll let those bastards hold onto that until they decide to wire us :winkwink:

DOUBLE DIPPING

jhauser 05-19-2004 07:17 PM

Sorry to hear that.

Babaganoosh 05-19-2004 07:18 PM

I had my account closed last week. My check showed up today. I actually had an account rep call me to inform me my check had been mailed and let me know about the dispute process if I wanted to fight my account being closed. Even though they closed me down, I still have nothing but love for those goofy bastards.

Webasic 05-19-2004 07:19 PM

I find it hard to believe they shut down your accout if you're following their TOS.

If you didn't follow their TOS, stop crying.

mpahlca 05-19-2004 07:21 PM

Seriously they tell everyone not to use them for adult what don't you get?
