I love that voice. Unlike the other winners of Idol in the past.

What I don't get is why Jasmine is still in the competition. She hurts my ears with her pitch problems.

And, Latoya....that's a damned shame....but, Fantasia...she is awesome!

fantasia is rough, edgy, and thrilling to watch. a poor black girl with very modest roots. no stage mothers or handlers, the REAL thing.

she has more raw natural talent in the tip of her little finger than the rest of them combined. i had hoped that the final 3 would have been jennifer hudson, latoya, and fantasia, but america ain't ready for that kind of talent. they think a singer is britney spears.

if anyone actually deserves to be american idol it is her.

whether she wins or not i expect she will be bigger than aretha franklin.

and she will tear up the R&B charts. watch it happen.

Jasmine should have been out of there forever ago! Diana's got a strong voice but needs a few more years on her to really shine. Fansasia.... holy shit. She's blown me away! That girl's got true talent!

No way, Fantasia looks like Bugs Bunny and sounds like Donald Duck. Good thing she only sings for a minute or so, couldn't take it much longer.

They all kind of sucked this year. The best one was gone a few weeks ago. Can't remember her name but she had the best voice.

Jazmine is still in the contest because of the time difference from Hawaii to the states. The phone lines are not getting jammed up so her fans can use power dialers etc etc.

Voting time is actually going to be doubled.

Yah at the beginning of the show she was criticised a bit for channeling Macy Gray, but she is being a bit more unique now.

She is certainly the clear winner in talent, the competition now is for the #2 spot.

Fantasia is fucking horrible. Don't be swayed by 3 assclown judges blowing sunshine up talentless ass to make the show look better. Fantasia is a fucking joke, and she'll be back to flipping burgers 6 months from now.

Perzactly. If Fantasia's gone tomorrow, I'm finished watching this season. Jasmine makes my ears bleed and Diana is clearly either a robot or a pod person.

I loved Simon's "tactical" comment, re: needing a "sympathy vote." Simon rocks.

Diana is a better singer. There's a difference between singing and sangin'. Fantasia can sang but she can't carry a simple tune like a basic singer like Diana could. Even if Fantasia wins I guarentee Diana will end up having a much bigger record on the charts. Not just because she's white but because the songs shem makes will be simpler and more accessable than the cat wailing Mary J. Blige wannabe records that fantasia ends up doing.

I wish Latoya was still in it. She was a better singer and was much easier to look at.

I think they need a show for bands. Rock, punk and alternative.

Ok, I'll admit this much... Diana does have better breath control and does have stronger "pipes" than the other two. BUT, she's got no sense of what the songs are about. All she knows how to do is belt the song(s) out - even when she shouldn't be belting them.

On the otherhand, Fantasia and LaToya and Jennifer H. understood the meaning and the feelings behind the songs. You can call them "sangers" all you want, but the truth is that they have the maturity to get INTO the songs. Diana and Jasmine are merely young twits with talent that is very immature and need a few years of LIFE so they can put something behind their voice.

I agree, now that Latoya is out, Fantasia should win. However, give Diana a year or two and she'll be right up there with the best of them, that girl is gonna make it big!

Diana blew me away in the early auditions. And in round one she delivered a nicely sung rendition of a song about escaping from an abusive marriage, all with her pretty, perfect, pageant smile. Girl has as much emotional depth as a slice of Velveeta. I do think she has a more than viable career, but I would thank her to leave me out of it until she's developed a bit.

For that matter I think even Jasmine has a pretty voice; she just hasn't learned to control it (AT ALL - ouch). I just hate that potential has surpassed actual talent this round. And I really hate that I care.

Thank goodness Big Brother will be on soon, to take my mind off all this silliness... :helpme

The Phreaking guys on the Net (Phone Phreaks are guys that know how to hack into telecom networks) are manipulating American Idols call in system.

I've seen phreaker forums where they all discuss new things to try to fuck up the results so the underdogs win and the ones you expect to win get blown out by not being able to register all their votes coming in.

Search phreaker american idol and you'll find a lot of these guys.

She does have a great voice

The kind of music they will be singing after they get off the show says that Diana is the most viable of the bunch. None of them write their own songs so they will have songs written for them. Whoever is the most moldable and versatile is the one who will have the biggest hits. Diana is the most versatile. She doesn't have just one style of singing, BELTING. Even Aretha had breath control and versaility.

You have to be able to pull off more than just 3 minutes of wailing. This venue is geared to make people believe that singing like she does is acceptable but imagine Fantasia having to sing like that for 60 minutes. You will want to shoot her. You have to be versatile to make it. See Clay (no pun intended) for more proof. He has no style whatsoever but he has the moldable range to bring other people's songs to life.

Latoya was the only middle ground on the show and the dumbasses voted her off. Trenyce and Tamara Gray are also good examples of the middle ground of good singing and sangin'.

well, there is some truth to what you say.

but i will say this.

the reason i respect fantasia, even as rough as she is (and i know that latoya or jennifer may be more technically competent) is that she takes chances with a song.

it's almost like a very early whitney houston. the girl has so much confidence that she will throw in a little trick vibrato at the end of a long note, that you just don't expect, something that might not even be rehearsed---and it is perfect, and somewhat risky to do live in front of an audience...and this is from a 19 year old girl.

remember the early whitney houston in the 80's, at the end of a really long note when she was almost out of breath she would go into a little breathy refrain that would just mesmorize you.

same with fantasia---this is a singer's singer.

in the music BUSINESS fantasia is bankable, not as a mainstream talent to be sure, but as a niche talent, for people who are really into the art.

britney spears is for the masses.

rickie lee jones is for people who love the art.

fantasia is in that league. if she sold stock, i would buy it.
