Unbelievable spyware..Please advise
 

I somehow downloaded some horrendous spyware..I cant get rid of this thing with any of the normal spyware killers.
What it does is this.
Any page i surf to on the web, it takes words like porn, house, dates, and tons of others and makes them into hypertext. And they are each linked to a sponsor of some sort..either selling mortgages..adult friend finder etc.
Anyone seen this shit? It is driving me insane and i cant get rid of the fucking shit!!!

see if any new prog or toolbars have been installed.

I have the same exact thing on both of my computers and none of the programs can get it off.

is it a visual toolbar, or just pops up new sites when you search certain keywords?

someone clicked a 'yes' box to a search engine optimizer, usualy found on warez sites or sites built by SE spammers. I almost got nailed today but caught it last minute. What I thought was an 'X' was a 'yes'. Try getting 'The Cleaner' and update the piss out of it and try running it.


If all that fails... try searching for the cws shredder on google. There are tons of variables on the coolwebsearch and this may be one of them.

Go to http://www.ad-aware.com they have a kickass spywhere elimination tool! I run it on all my macnines!

In windows a smart thing to do is back up all regi$try folders, download Nortons Internet Security Pro Symantec.com (you can get the trial version free) run it, and it will identify bogus or adserving registry files.

After youve identified the bad registry files, go in and delete them by hand. :2 cents:

Why doesnt someone come out with an affiliate program for spyware?

It would also be smart if every webmaster had spyware as a free download on their sites, tpg's etc.

Click one of the hypertext links. Does it take you to a search page? It should. Scroll to the bottom of the search page and look for a remove link. I had the same thing and this is all it took.
