:winkwink: yeah but I don't put too much stock in tests like that. I got a perfect score once so should I go thinking I'm the smartest person in the world? :1orglaugh

It has some value but I see alot of people who scored lower making more money than me. :2 cents:

Mishi 05-18-2004 11:07 PM

Well, yippee yay, I'm almost sort of a genius with 135.

Okay, the one with the four by four grid with four colored (shaded) dots in three different patterns - that has ALWAYS baffled me. Can somebody here PLEASE explain the logic behind that one? I have absolutely no clue and it PISSES ME OFF!

:feels-hot

I think that's the answer.. three different patterns.. there was only one that was different than all the rest.. course I don't know if I got that one right or not

Your looking for a pattern match

venturi 05-18-2004 11:19 PM

Damn! I only got a 127 too. I guess my aging ass is getting dumber over time....

Actually IQ is based upon age so that's understandable. Had I put in that I was born Jan 1, 1995 (rather than Sep 30, 1964) I'd have probably scored a 300. LOL

The last time I took an "official" test was a couple decades ago and I scored in the 160 range. Ah well - time, lots of drugs in college and beer has diminished me. *sigh*

I understand that, but is it based on some kind of progression from the first three, or am I way overthinking? I've seen that one dozens of times and it's like my brain just quits as soon as it appears. Bah! :)

I think I misunderstood which one you were talking about.. now I see the one it is.. that one baffled me too, the only thing I could figure out is that each shaded area was moved over 1 and up or down 1 .. I may have gotten that one wrong.. lol

hey Mishi, don't you use icq anymore? messaged you a few days ago

phpslave 05-18-2004 11:33 PM

Your Intellectual Type is Visual Mathematician. This means you are gifted at spotting patterns ? both in pictures and in numbers. These talents combined with your overall high intelligence make you good at understanding the big picture, which is why people trust your instincts and turn to you for direction ? especially in the workplace.

i took the test a little hammered, does that count for anything. LOL

phpslave 05-18-2004 11:35 PM

oh yah 129, teehhee :drinkup

It's hard to explain without the images in front of me. When your looking at it your mind see's the match or mismatch. There's a repete pattern or yes a progression in some cases, like what would be the next in line to happen. So if your brain just quits when seeing it, you won't get it. But that's ok, I bet you got other questions right I did not. In the top right corner of the page what type of person are you? I'm a Visual Mathematician, so I did better on Visual problems. Not sure if that help explains it, sorry.

That's how I was trying to look at it, but it doesn't seem to work out...and I'm too cheap to pay the $14.95 or whatever for the answer sheet, lol.

On ICQ, yep, I'm always online even if I'm hiding out. I don't think I got your message, but ICQ's been a bit flaky lately. Try me again. :)

Yes, the dots at 2,3 and 3,2 are not moving, but the other two are. The dot at 1,4 is moving upwards and the one at 4,1 is moving diagonally down left.

As for the iq scores.. please deduct 15 or so from your results.. :glugglug

Doesn't help explain it, but it does make sense. Patterns tend to give me problems. Some jump out at me and are so obvious I can't fathom how they aren't clear to other people, others...I just do not get it. I have a feeling a nice batch of mushroom tea might help, but then I probably wouldn't get a lot of the other questions. :Graucho

I think it's fascinating how two of us can look at the same thing and see something totally different.

Cool, thanks, next time I look at it I will try to see that...

Deduct? We have to take a beer deduction? That's not right.

Your Intellectual Type is Word Warrior. This means you have exceptional verbal skills. You can easily make sense of complex issues and take an unusually creative approach to solving problems. Your strengths also make you a visionary. Even without trying you're able to come up with lots of new and creative ideas.

I'm like Shakespere, apparently. :glugglug
