I got the basic jist of the cell phone billing. It does seem though it is to access content via their phone right?

Is there a current way to micro bill via this method that would work with a website that the consumer would still use his PC to access the content?

In a nut shell, could they use such a billing method, recieve a user name and password and get access to my website on their pc for a set number of days or whatever?

Could it also then text message them when its ready to expire and allow them to renew?

If you have this or can seriously do this with minimal smoke blown up my ass please let me know.

you should hit some of the shows in Europe. SMS billing is gettin really popular in UK and stuff.

I know its popular in Europe and I forsee it taking off here someday.

I just can not justify a trip to Europe just to get this info. I am sure someone here can point me in the right direction.

we offer SMS billing as an option on all of our sites.
have done for around a year now. passwords are issued via a reply txt and are valid from anything from an hour to a month.
the option we use is 2 or 3 messages a day for 30 days untill they send a stop signal.

Revenues are going higher and higher each month we use this option.
Draw back is limit of EU countries the system it can be used from.

We also make a few grand a month of SMS smut chat.
easy money for very little work.

Micro payments could be the way to go when more countries allow for this.

hit me up, we are using SMS chat, MMS, and IVR products. we were the first adult company to use streaming video to phones in the UK. Been running for 18 months now. North American version coming in time for Internext.

Works really well specifially for your non-US traffic.

What company are you with?

check out cellsynt.com.. a swedish company.. supports a lot of european contries and support recurring payments.. most billers only supports uk..

shitty things you might want to know about though:
- the operator normally charges 50%... then the billingcompany normally wants 50% of the 50 left... limits on access is normally $2-4 so not much left for you as owner of the sites.

- even though billingservices says that a country is supported doesnt always mean that every telephone company is supported. A person using company a might be able to text himself into your site while person b can not.

- phone companies like to get wet, but they don't like to shower. Porn is still not accepted by all and companies might change their policy over night (happened in norway recently).

- some countries are implementing blocks to protect children. This means that every person that wants to use your service will have to activate his phone to do so. Most likely coming in the UK after all the major companies agreed to implement it.
