There has been some confusion regarding this ... are you saying i'm not allowed by ARS rules or GFY rules?

if you dont believe me then email support and they will tell you

ARS allows it... if ARS is one of the "top banner sponsors" on GFY, then GFY allows it.

I see an ARS logo in the top banner every once in a while, i think that's for the epassporte ad though. Maybe someone from adult.com should clarify this for us...

It's in Lensman's thread i believe. They have a banner code especially for GFY/vB boards in their webmaster area.

Yeah and two months ago they weren't in the sponser spot ...and I was using the button...minor things changed ... if i'm breaking the rules they'll let me know and i'll let them know my reason and change it if need be ... thanx for the extra policing though :thumbsup

Yeah actually. Talk to PHPSlave. Hes the one that did the coding for the new ARS sigs. Give me a second and I'll find you the link to the thread. Quit being a super trooper and turn off sigs if it bothers you that much. Its a kickass program and Im going to support it every way I can.

someone else warned Stev0 yesterday to remove his banner since its not allowable. Anyways, i sent her an email and will post the reply here. I just didnt want you guys getting an email saying your account will be in jeopardy if you dont change it.

I've been hitting refresh for about 5 mins straight and i haven't seen it in the top banner.. but then again i was still getting more and more new ones, i just gave up. I'm sure i've seen it up there before.

If a mod or adult.com employee asks you to change it then go for it, if not, who cares? Half the people on this board have full banner sigs... People bitching must have nothing better to do than try sucking by acting like self appointed sig police.

Look for PHPSlaves response saying ARS allows what the board allows. Thats enough for me to use it. If Lensman has a problem with it then thats one thing, but ARS does have a button spot on GFY which is why Im assuming its ok until I hear otherwise.
I dont know why all you guys are bitching so much. The ARS banner is still like 1/4 the size of most of the sigs on here.

but with the ars i think its different since your being paid per impression.

Amber told me a while back to switch to the button... but then everyone started using the banner again and PHPSlave said it was ok. Plus, Why else would they have a banner version of the code to be used on vB boards?

The ARS button is the highest ad I can see. Thats why im assuming its allowable by GFY.

the Top Banners are the huge flash banners right under the GFY logo not that tiny one, ARS sig Buttons are the only ones allowed, not banners

Thats my point exactly. Everyone can bitch and complain all they want. I dont see why it matters anyway. My sig isnt any bigger than Manowars. The sponsor in my sig has an ad spot on GFY, just like Manowars, but yet hes being a cry baby about me having a banner in my sig. Like the extra 300 pixels is going to crash his computer or something. Rioslut was fair about it and admitted to not knowing either way and is helping us solve it once and for all. Manowar just wont quit whining though.

Dont make the mistake of assuming that just because this account wasnt around 3 months ago that I wasnt reading the board or that I am a new webmaster. Stev0 knows I was around years and years ago. Ive just been lurking for a long long time.
Either way, I was told straight up by an ARS rep that its allowed. If Amber says no, I'll switch.

Even if ARS allows it, GFY does not.

The rules are that you can only put a 468x60 banner in your sig if the program has a top rotating banner.

the rules on GFY state this:
"New as of 1/1/2003: if your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 468x60 instead of a 120x60."

the tiny little button Stroge posted is not a banner. it's a button.

if the search function was working correctly, i'd point you to multiple threads where not only have Lensman and Eric said full banners are unacceptable, but Marc De and Amber have said so as well.

PHPSlave is simply a programmer for ARS and I wouldn't take his word on company policy.

Yeah, I was just wondering if ARS was rotating through the top banner sometime, i guess not though :) The full banner can still be used on other boards :thumbsup
