Why do ratios matter?
Everyone goes on about how 'great' thier program is because they're sites are converting at 1:XXX
But all this means is that the number XXX is lower because there is less traffic, but more targetted. I submitted a gay gallery with text links telling the surfers the cost and pretty much what they would be getting, I was converting at 1:50 ... but I only got about 150 clicks. The next day I used text links telling the user to 'Click here to download the whole video' or something along the lines of that(more generalised, not mentioning price). I got about 1400 clicks converting at 1:465. Same amount of sales... just different amounts of traffic. |
the only ratios that matter are your own, with your own traffic source. Everyone else's ratios are meaningless :2 cents:

Its pretty much a bullshit ruler to measure a site by, even without lying there are a ton of different ways to mess with "The Ratio".

Try this: Instead of telling them what it costs and what they'll get, just say something along the lines of "Only fucking click here if you are gonna join... beeeyach!!!" And watch your ration go through the roof!!!

Ratios don't matter at all really, its all propaganda.
Everyone counts clicks differently so 1 in 200 here is 1 in 2000 there. Its all hype to get and keep webmasters. What's funny is that I remember a long time ago there were alot of paysites that would kick you out of their program if your ratio was too bad, even though they were only paying per sale or on partnership. Something about burning up too much bandwidth on the tour so we don't want your shitty traffic. :1orglaugh |

I actually use to like the programs that showed both raw clicks and uniques as well seeing the sponsors showing the unique hit counts only it was easier for them to shave on the hit counts. and not to mention what page are they counting from second,3rd.. etc. I still like the niche sites but dislike the volume of cheating sponsors that are showing up with there fraud tactics.. yes it's very hard to find more than a handful of paying sponsors running a pretty clean act! :2 cents: |
