Road Song (instrumental) - Wes Montgomery They All Laughed - I like the Charlie Biddle Trio version Minnie the Moocher - Cab Calloway SpaceAce |
"jazz" is just an improvisational style with many variants,
can be abstract or recognizable to a melody. many tunes lend themselves to jazz versions. some recent jazzified ballads are good: norah jones doing hoagy charmicheal's "the nearness of you" diana krall's version of "the look of love" or the joni mitchell tune "a case of you" lately american idol contestant fantasia's smokin' rendition of "summertime" or instrumental stuff, saxophone david sanborn, etc. lots of great jazz from the 40's nat king cole, erroll garner, etc. |
