Who saw the movie TROY ?

Did you liked it, Better or = Gladiator ??

Great Movie - It was slow for the first half hour but the battle scenes and one on one fights are so well done. I'd say if you liked Gladiator you will definately like Troy.:thumbsup

It's a great movie but Gladiator is still by far the best movie of it's kind.

I had a much better time reading the Iliad and the Odyssey...they didn't even get Achilles' hair color right...

I saw Troy. It was good, but Gladiator was better.

Didn't you find it interesting that the GREEKS all had BRITISH accents....No one in the movie had even the slightest hint of Greek in them...

Saw it last night, and had that conversation with the family this morning. We decided that both movies were great in their own right. Gladiator was a hero's fictional story. Troy is a war movie about the machinations of war and the characters caught up in it. I would almost have rathered shorter fight scenes, to deal more with the conflict between the characters.

I don't know why it's rated R in the states. Up here it was 14A with the most nudity being Brad naked down to the lower hairline, which is nothing new. Guess I'l have to wait for the DVD director's cut. :Graucho

Was not quite as good as Gladiator.. but it was pretty good nonetheless.

Could have had more big battles..

I will watch it next week. I have HIGH expectations!

Decent, I expected more somehow. Also I didn't like the way the changed the Achilles story, it made the whole concept of Achilles heel and the legend useless. The thing with Priam showing up in Achilles' tent, I don't remember if it was in the actual story but seemed a little bit ludicrous.

troy:

*people looking off into nothing for long times
*kill a bunch of people
*look at brad pit naked


repeat for 2.5 hours

Gladiator Rip off!

I mean ok the story is different! but the one liners!, the sward flipping and combat scenes! cmon! how stupid do the studios think we are?


Besides that it was just OK! nothing special! Gladiator was by far the better movie!:2 cents:

Question tho...did they rob the entire cats of Braveheart to star in this movie?

Menelaus = Hamish in Braveheart
Agememnon = Uncle Argyle in Braveheart
Glaucus = Hamish Father in Braveheart
Eudoros = Ruler of York (head cut off in a basket by Wallace in Braveheart.

I think they should of used the Prince in Braveheart instead of Orlando Bloom. I mean Orlando Bloom played a wimp in Troy...

talk about playing around with history for the sake of hollywood.

in roman society gladiators were the lowest of the low.
a roman emperor would sooner sleep with his own mother/ brother/sister than enter the gladitorial arena.

as to Troy.... of course hollywoods screws with the story.

the only reason to see Troy is to the great buffed one.
