Branding is the alpha and omega of e-commerce. Aside of customer satisfaction and service, of course.
|
A well branded, well known name or service is more trustable so it is important as it could increase sales

Yes I do Brading is one of the most powerful things you can
do for your product or company. Once you can make your name synomoous with the product you sell you have control. IE. Coke, Kleenex, Vasoline ect.......... some have come close in adult. But I think you will see people and companies make stronger pushes to brand their items and or services in the coming months and years. |
I watched a guy get branded last week. I can still hear his skin sizzling. :Graucho

Branding is big but branding and needing a good reputation doesn't always go hand in hand. Look at the success of Trey Hickey for an example of that. While he never did anything criminal, a lot of people didn't like him, now they are eating humble pie.

People can be a brand, just look at juicy ;)
|
I don't know man, I am just "KB"
Works for me...... I guess I have branded myself |
Juicy Brand. Definetly needs to sell hat and shirts, etc..
Cheers, Matt |
branding --> act of systematic planning, analyzing of giving a name to be known and possess aspecific identity amomg the othre variety they fall :)
|
Sure branding is a big thing when you have a lot of competition with similiar features / programs / payouts whatever.
If you are the only game in town.. not so much. :) |

Branding is what takes a semi-good to mediocre product and pushes it to great status. You can have 300 images of chicks with cum on their faces on a site called hotties.com and the same 300 images on a site called cumeaters.com and I would be willing to bet that the cumeaters.com one would do better. I could be wrong but I think I am close...

I have always believed in branding. That's why I like to have my sites named after a character rather than after the actual content of the site. That way, I can have it revolve around ME and MY ghetto hoes...
I always make sure that I'm the star of the show. I never let my hoes outshine me. |

A lot of programs are branded threw the persona behind them.
With all the big conventions, small getaways, webmaster reunions and board in the adult industry you need both. Hell look at you Juicy, with cartoons and pics of you all over the place... You doing a pretty good job and I am sure it helped out a lot your business.:thumbsup I can tell you more people know me because of the hardcore branding "JMan" I have done in the past, then what I actually do behind a computer. Guess now it's time to brand the program :Graucho If it wasn't for Persona why do most of us have nicknames ? |

Branding is or should be a part of the business plan, whether the business is you (promoting yourself on the boards), a site, a program, or a service or character. It is not to be taken lightly.
Sleazy, for example, is re-branding or re-positioning himself. His lovey dovey threads are showing a new side that makes his audience rethink their idea of his persona. Ah, back to work..:2 cents: |

Yes, Branding is a must... you should keep that in mind when you are selecting the url for your site. It must be memorable... and it should lend itself well to all types of marketing....Like IE: Lightspeed, Pineapplepink, Karups, Twisty's it don't have to sound like porn:)
Just my :2 cents: |
betty crocker was, at one point, THE most recognized woman in the world - and this despite the fact that she was not a real person.
the pillsbury doughboy, tony the tiger, aunt jemima, uncle ben - just a few that at some point have been extremely well-known. many were better known than their products, and they sold more because of the persona's fame. madge the manicurist, the maytag repairman, mr whipple (who is probably even now squeezing and squeezing), ronald mcdonald, cap'n crunch... the list goes on and on. even public service had it's smokey the bear and woodsy owl. on a shelf FILLED with the same type of product, a well-known character can stand out from the rest. and that character apparently need have nothing to do with the product. how many tigers eat cereal? |

Brand recognition can be a huge benefit, always assuming that recognition brings with it a favorable reaction. The salesmen for my first business rarely had to sell the company itself, because it became so well known. Later when I published books, I worked hard to establish a clear identity for them. Most first editions were sold out in advance because the stores knew they would sell.
In online porn, since there are so few who don't burn their customers, for the majority, branding would be a bad idea. And from the webmaster perspective, mine anyway since I am mostly selling other peoples' businesses, my prime concerns are whether I can sell them effectively and whether I get paid. Since online porn is driven more by cult of personality than reputations in the usual sense, generally I ignore who is behind a business unless they are known to be flakey or for whatever reason choose to come across that way. |
