Office Live Cam: Best way?
I want to use a webcam for some stuff and point the cam into the city or whatever during the day. I want it on a website, but I am looking for the best method.
Right now what I did is use Active Webcam and have it FTP 3x per minute to the server to upload a new pic, but that is a stupid way to do it. I don't want to FTP into the server a zillion times a day. Isn't there a way to have a java applet that gets the images (streaming or whatever) pushed from my pc to the webpage where it is on? Any smart ways to do it? |
Bump....
Dunno if this will help, but i have seen in a shop video cameras that come with a video capture card that can stream to a site or you can view over it over the web from that local machine. The ones i was looking at were for monitoring your house/office and it supported upto 12 cams on the card with the software with motion sensors too (if you wanted that option on) It was also capable of saving the video to the drive without using a shit load of space.... I know some poeple are using hahahahahahas encoder and others are also converting the files to flash so the boys out there that have a PDA can view live cams of there office while on the move. |
Everything you say can be done by Active Webcam, the software I use, question remains, how to stream from my local pc to a webpage.

Anybody else?

Webcam32 or WinCamXP are your best bets.
