Back in the good old day's a post count ment something, now it just means you can get more $$ for your sig.

Sure, im all for it and also forbid selling your sig.

This place will be clean as hell in a week....and lose 50% of its members haha.

IMO sigs should net be appraised based on postcounts.
They should be based either by the name in case of the most famous GFY characters, or juts by the overall quality of posts.

The majority of people here only post for sig exposure. Take away sigs and you will not have anymore post whores wasting there time posting smilies in every thread.

Lensman would never disable sigs though, because that would cut down posts on this boards by around 75%.

Well thats how it is the higher the post count the more $$ they get.

Programmers should create a script that intelligently recognizes useful and non useful information posted. And then you can have 2 different post counts.

The "Useful" count

The "postwhore" count

But when post count is not displayed, then only the quality sigs will be sold and the board will not attract people who post ONLY to sell their sigs.

I realise that *even* I could become sigless, but i will survice without that income... but i had some special people in mind who are far biggest post whores that i am :1orglaugh

if just everybo.dy here took care to apreciate the threadstarter with more than only a "LOL" or a "yeah right", the board would become more diverse and dissolve hatred. Just do like we do it in reality: when you have conversation with somebo.dy, do you also just say "yeah I agree" and turn around and go?

When you buy sigs based on post count only, it becomes ridicolous...

I know that what I am telling sounds like if i was *someone* in this industry, whereas i am not.

Not sure killing the post count would do it. There would still be sig exposure to consider. So I think we'd still see the "fluff" in threads. Age verification would help. That would have the affect of slowing joins too though.

Bullet proof the board some how. Hate to loose the search feature or find the board down (or messedup), casue some idiot has screwed with it.

A post rating addon,if the rating goes into the really bad area 10+ or 20+ votes the thread or post gets deleted and the spammer gets -2 posts.

If you look at replies vs views stats, not everyone is just posting to up the up their count. More whores would have replies about equal to views.

but it's very hard to track all posts of a person and declare: he makes ONLY quality posts and he posts only shit...

well I for my part will try to stick to that self-imposed rule. I spend a lot of time with it, I like many people here and I will refund them with a little more than a LOL (at least from now on, if it wasn't enough)!

As far as disabling sigs, ummm .. BAD idea. People come to an adult webmaster board to learn, teach, and promote. If you're here just for the conversation, great, but there are boards on any number of subjects; politics, religion and so on.

Let's say i post 100 useless posts today(seems about right) now I have my sig sponsor in 100 diffrent places here today. doesn't matter if you read my post. Youtr going to see the sig when your scrolling down no matter what.

Not a bad idea. I think you should be able report retard posters and then the moderators look into it and sort something out. Maybe disable their sig for a week or so. So that way no sponsers would buy their sig, regardless of their post counts, because it was rarely being displayed.

kowntafit mods can't be around all day,also the post rating addon keeps the board clean of spam threads.Such a rating addon is already in use at heise.de ( look here for example: http://www.heise.de/newsticker/foren...forum_id=56471 ).

Don't worry, those paying out the money for the sigs will soon count up the extra webmasters they picked up, what they made out of them and the money paid out.

That will soon bring them to their senses.
