Is there a way to burn movies

...to CD R's. I tried it with my CD R's using Nero...but it would not work. It does work with CD RW's. I am speaking for VCD's.

Any Nero users out there that can explain to me why I can't burn a VCD to a CD R?

With what kind of file? (i.e. DivX) ?

file format must be mpg1 for vcd or mpg2 for svcd if it is in one of those formats simply open nero and select video cd or super video cd. now if you have a nasty little .dat, bin ,cue etc, well then use a lighter to burn it b4 the feds find you lmao

on the mac it's really easy, you click Burn and thats it, it does all the rest for you

The minimum Nero version you should use is 6.3.1.6

Then Use Nero StartSmart, Select VCD. And all you have to do is drop the video file.

Nero will convert it to the VCD standard and burn it to more than 1 cd's if required.

It should do everything automatically.

I have the lastest version of Nero...it burns to CD RW's just fine but I have used a dozen CD R's and it always gives me an error...thus I have not been able to successfully burn to CD R's.

Loki 05-16-2004 12:25 PM

what error is it giving you?

Strange..

Anyway, it's better to burn it on a CD-RW. Most DVD players will be able to read it, unlike the CD-R format.

Can you burn audio cd's, games or other stuff on CD-R's with your burner?

A VCD...and the movie has been converted to a viable VCD format (mpg1) and no it does not have bin/cue files. It burns just fine to my CD RW disks...and plays just fine in my stand alone DVD player (JVC).

I apparently deleted the converted VCD formatted movie so I will have to convert it again and this takes more than an hour...so I cannot attempt another burn until I convert it again.

Try burning it at 4X instead. Do not use maxspeed. This might help.

Honey .... and the excellent conversations hehe

Actually i never left, just been really really busy.. Making a whole host of new software

theking 05-16-2004 04:49 PM

Ok...I learned that one can burn to image...save the image to the hard drive and then burn the image to a CD-R and it works fine in my stand alone DVD player (JVC). I am now testing to see if I can burn directly to a CD-R...by slowing the speed of the drive down as was suggested. I will let you know the results.

must be why my nero does not work I got 5.5.7.2

theking 05-16-2004 06:35 PM

Yes...slowing down the speed of my cd hahahahahar did the trick...and it wrote to the CD-R perfectly. Now I am going to burn a SVCD and see if it will play in my stand alone DVD player.
