No no, thats just the uh...dont know the name in english, the thingies to protect the records. Its not the brand of the turnables.

This set cost me like 450 euros. Including the table and stuff the total was 500 euros. (600 dollars)

i don't think they're tech 1200s.

but if they are, they're definetly not starter decks. tech 1200s are the best dj turntables money can buy.

my girlfriend has a nice pair (no pun intended ;) with a sweet mixer.

whatcha spinning, battus?

Dirty F 05-15-2004 01:55 AM

Stanton yes, more than enough for me now :)

slipmats :)

what brand are the tables?

I ordered quite some records in England, still waiting for most of them.

Oakenfold, Sasha, Prodigy, Junior Jack and some other stuff.

Fucking records are so expensive. I ordered like 20 records which cost me 200 euros including shipping.

Haha funny, we use the same word in Holland. Stupid me.

Tables are also Stanton.

A pro probably finds them shitty. For me its perfect, i wouldnt even know how an expensive Technics feels.

If in a year i still enjoy it i will pick up the Technics and buy pro stuff.

yeah, that's about what they cost here in canada too. i bought a few for my girlfriend and almost went bankrupt.

prodigy kicks ass. they're my favorite group.

my girlfriend might be selling a shit load of records soon. when she bought her technics, she got 120 records with them too. and she later bought a lot of like 75 more records.

they'd be house, techno, trance, drum n bass and some hardcore/gabber. if you're interested, i could hook you up with a list. they'd probably be about $5 USD each.

Most of the big DJ's are moving to the CD mixers from what Ive noticed.

http://panasonic.com/consumer_electr...odindex_dt.jpg

I spun a party with one last year. It was a lower model than the one above but it felt just like wax the way it cued and scratched even!

Pornwolf 05-15-2004 05:59 AM

Very nice pics of the house Battuss. Property on the water is always a nice thing.

If you are just starting I would suggest using the CD turnables. Do this before you spend all your money on wax, and you will try, believe me!

I started DJ'ing 16 years ago so you guys can't start talking all that 'wax is the only way to go' bullshit. I put thousands and thousands into my wax collection. When you get your collection up to the pro dj size you get tired of lugging those things around. Having just about every track you wanna spin at your fingertips is an amazing feeling.

Here's a link for the one above

maybe you're a starter but with expensive equipment...

Nice technics.. it looks like the table you have them on isn't up to the task though. :)

.. and amsterdam is someplace I have always wanted to visit.. I'm jealous. We literally still have snow on the ground here.

Sorry dood, but anything other than 1200's or 1210's aren't worth buying, not even to learn on. The variable speeds are never constant and you'll spend more time touching the platter to keep your beats in time than doing anything else. Plus, you'll never be able to scratch properly on them without the fuckers jumping. :2 cents:

Uhm, believe me when i tell you the tables i have are just fine and more than good enough to learn using them.

Sorry man, thats just my two cents. If you aren't intending to ever become competant on the decks then you're probably right. If you are, then just be prepared to learn all over again once you get your first set of 1200's.

Goodluck with it tho, you'll have some fun no doubt. :thumbsup

Jill_J 05-15-2004 06:17 AM

Places for boats are fucking expensive. I saw some prices around 150.000 Euro. How much do you pay for a boat?
