what i have started to do usually for some affilates is get custom made ones (their choice of designer) and pay for it for specific affilates.. that way its a win win :)

free hosted galleries are eye candy...mainly for the webmaster.
It's a tool to get you to promote them.
Hell they've been paid for..the hosting is free and if you have some traffic pumps better to fill them up with some good quality fhg until you build up a huge database of your own...than something you may not make any sales off of.

very true, and agree with your point, im just saying if you have 50 people using the same gallery blasted all over the place, chances are that a different one with the same content but alterd design will stand out more :)

I kind of think it's not a totally bad thing that they see the same gallery over and over though. While granted it is not the best for the webmaster it is GREAT for the sponsor to have these galleries submitted and re-submitted. Brian Tracy talks of his sales strategies on his tapes and he says that alot of the time, his sale with any particular client would not come until he had put the same product in the clients face 5 or 6 times on different occasions. For the sponsors I am sure this is their logic no?

My main stay in the adult industry is Photography... My site is only 3 months old... I have been trying to attract webmasters to promote my site for 3 months! I have had over 100 affiliates sign up and only 3 or 4 have sent any traffic at all.

I see on this board that webmasters want FHG's so I added some. They ask for pre-made thumbs so I added them, they want gallery discriptions so I added them. They said I had traffic leaks so I pluged them.

In my case I would say my FHG would be like custom ones... because I can't get webmasters to use them to take my money!

I don't have a lot of time, shooting content, recruting models and up dating the site takes most of my time... So when I do make promotional tools for the site I would like to think I'm making what webmasters want.

oh yeah i can see that view and sure more of your sites name/face/image thats all out there is branding..

i mean i have no issue with x amount of people using a specific hosted gallery but i myself try to mix it up as much as i can.. hence why i said at the start that i have no issues getting the affilates choice of designer to select what content and what they need from myself to develope what in their mind will be a converting fresh gallery

It's a no brainier. Just make a gallery on a free site and one on a premium web hosting service. Your conversions will out way your hosting saving the first day if you get on a popular listing.
