Anyone know how to remove a Boot off a Car ? MY friends car just got booted but it's a a mistake by the city and he can't find the receipt for all the tickets he paid. :helpme

a machine shop would have the right equipment to cut it off, but if you do it in the street and a police cruiser happens by your ass is grass.

better tow it away first, then cut it off.

One of my old roommates had a boot put on his car at a parking lot in Canada. We couldn't believe it. We actually called the police, who told us, we should pay the "fine" imposed by the parking lot. They went on to say that if we cut it off or otherwise damaged it, we could be arrested. Couldn't believe it.

Try waiting inline at the court house and having the records pulled. Take a copy of the reciept to whoever and have it removed legally.:thumbsup

Our police and bi law enforcment don't use boots, as far as I've ever seen.

What happened to us was in a private parking lot. It was surprising, because I've never seen a boot used in Western Canada my entire life, other than this London Drugs parking lot.

Well, we were all surprised at one time or another, personally I was lucky to never have the boot put on but I saw plenty cars with it, and I know I got my share of bogus tickets and crap from the cops, but it's not worth hassling with these guys unless you're 18 and still in Kamikaze mode :1orglaugh

Oh yes it is. The city will spend a quarter of a million dollars on a trial to enforce $100 worth of parking tickets and secure a reimbursement for a $200 piece of metal. Unless your friend has a history of criminal activity, he'll get a year of probation, some community service and restitution and thats IF they come after you and IF it ever makes it trial.
