:1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

man..i hope those numbers stick

Fletch XXX 05-14-2004 03:08 PM

Bush spent 70+ million on negative Kerry commercials.

The recent Kerry commercials are all very positive, I think Kerry will get more votes is he keeps playing the ositive of the two.

People get tired of the dirt commercialos, start showing Kerry and his daughter, his military record and photos, he will start to turn some heads.

And of course the little middle finger at the end of each "Im Joh Kerry and I approve this mesage"

funny stuff watching them run these ads.

The Truth Hurts 05-14-2004 03:10 PM

"I don't place a lot of stock in the polls"

- John Kerry, last night talking to Alan Colmes.

I agree those Bush commercials knocking Kerry were horribly produced and writtern.

That stuff is an instant turnoff to most people.

Yeah I'm sure they'll think of something to steal this...ehm I mean win this election.

polish_aristocrat 05-14-2004 03:25 PM

It is common in politics in every country that negative commercials are not a good way to gain votes.

sperbonzo 05-14-2004 03:28 PM

Of course....You all realize that the reason that George Bush has to put that "I'm George Bush and I approve this message" is to be compliant with the campaign finance reform laws (McCain-Finegold Act)

But or course you would all know this as you are all so well informed politically:glugglug

Rictor 05-14-2004 03:31 PM

Let's hope it keeps up.

Holy shit that's incredible.

The only chance Bush has is if he dumps all these extremists in his admin and gets a whole new crew with younger people.

But he's too stuck on the old fuddy duddies to make that move.

Pornwolf 05-14-2004 03:38 PM

What's scary is that there's over 75 million people in America that think Bush is the best.

But then, Jerry Springer has a lot of fans too so I guess that's not hard to believe.

Bush wrote them himself, that's why. It's the only thing he's done himself so far without Cheney's or his father's approval.

:1orglaugh

SuckOnThis 05-14-2004 03:52 PM

There's no doubt Kerry will win unless they steal it again. Do you really think there are people out there that voted for Gore that are going to vote for Bush this time? I don't know any, but I do know quite a few Republicans who have had enough of Bush that will vote for Kerry, and I'm not so sure Bush will get the military vote this time around.

The International Union of Police who endorsed Bush last time and who normally endorses Republicans just officially endorsed Kerry.

The election was stolen.
The whole thing was a mess. The system was jacked and now the system is being raped by war criminals.

STOLEN ELECTION NOTES

There are masses and masses of proof the election was slanted in 2000, we all know its true.

The reasons why it was stolen is clear and ever since 2000 to present... We have got nothing but blood, death and fear as the prime instruments of a warmongering leadership filled with lies.

Never in the history of the United States there been such an abberant lot with flagrant disregard to the world while waging a war not only on other countries but its own people with the destruction of the American Economy.

jas1552 05-14-2004 04:23 PM

It's been a bad week with the abuse photos and the beheading and all. I could be wrong but I think these current numbers reflect that and as time goes by those number will probably change more in Bush's favor. Polls this early don't matter too much. If the numbers are the same or worse for Bush 5 months from now then he should worry.

edit: There's a lot of time between now and november and nobody know how things will turn out. How will the hand over of authority to Iraqis in June go? How many jobs will be created between now and november. The last two months have had very strong job growth. If that continues and the Iraq situation improves significantly, Bush could still win by a landslide. Only time will tell.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 05-14-2004 04:27 PM

Don't vote for Bush just because he claims to be a fucken Republican.

Bush is not a Republican he is a fucken nutcase disguised as a NEOCON.

Fuck if Real Republicans stood up and played the Republican dance I would vote Republican, but god damn Bush is not a fucken Republican.

Bush is a psychotic with a band of sick fucks at the helm.

Its not a bad week.
Its a sick week with an unprecedented failure of the united States for nearly the last 4 years.

Kerry is an idiot and so is Bush. Anyone that would vote for either is a moron. They are both almost identical. They both support big government and thier are both socialist white trash.

If Nader was Republican or Democrat he might actually be an alternative.

It's a 2 party beast right now, the center-left v the center-right.. any candidate that fails to push policies that attract a large share of votes from the center mass wont really have a chance of being an alternative.

I noticed that too. I've seen positive commercials from the Kerry team nd negative ones from the Bush team. I once read an analysis that showed the candidate with the most "positive message" had an advantage.

I also once read an interesting paper on campaign theory that said you are likely to gain in the polls by running negative ads when you are currently behind.

These might be two separate things. What the commercials say and what the candidate says.
