Top of the line content and a huge members area are not necessary to make coin.

Look at the new ARS sites for instance.

But doesn't top of line stuff increase your chances of making more?

EviLGuY 05-14-2004 01:12 PM

Honestly, all kinds of shit affects the sales somewhat. But so many on here scream that you have to have exclusive this, expensive that, top notch design, blah blah blah.

This is another one of my reminders that most people here are full of shit. Most all big programs know what's going on, otherwise there would be some truly unique sites out there that would blow even webmasters away. Some of the most creative sites as far as content and design are from small players, so why are they still small players?

To sum it up, if the same people bitching about design and content saw the site I've been selling at $25 first week and $50 rebills they would say it's impossible I make money. Yet my conversions are most likely better than theirs.

Stocktrader or anybody else thats wants to do this hit me up.

I am not talking about the usual plugins we have all seen.

I know what you mean also.

I think you are right.

I do free sites and TGP but I get emails on a regular bases from bookmarkers that thank me for not using falsh and all the other useless crap.

Functionality that's what it's about IMO.

Maybe they should realize that content is king sooner. New ARS isnt much successful program, look at their webmaster rank to see how many sales webmaster generate for them.

Yes, there were and (and still are) other top sponsors like silvercash with poor content sites, but a lot of them realized now, that there is year 2004, not 98.

just my :2 cents:

webmaster rank? what are you talking about?

So what is the secret to success?

If it's not the content, the design, then what is it?

Just throw as much traffic at it as you possibly can, because that's all that matters. Because the surfer is an idiot who will sign up to shit if you throw enough of them at it.

Which tells me the guys putting these sites together don't know what the surfer really wants and can only improve their bottom line by upping the traffic.

Good content will always improve your conversions and your retentions. The difficult part is, recognising what is good and then paying for it. Too many are still buying content on image price, the surfer with $30 to spend is looking to jerk off to porn, not price.
