My barracuda is ready with all the data on it now from the old c drive.

Now the old c drive is the slave and has a copy of whats on my barracuda

I want to reformat the old drive and so on.

Do i do a traditional format d on this old drive ?

Asuming the D drive has the right file system I don't see why not.

If you want to be on the safe site re-partition it and then format it, but just formatting should work :)

just randomize it until it works

Make sure to make the drive NTFS.
With video it doesnt take much to have a 4+GB Raw Avi file and FAT32 isnt juicy enough to support 4+gb files

Format it FAT32. It's just a data drive now.

You can read/wr<i></i>ite a FAT32 formatted drive from dos or a Win<i></i>dow<i></i>s95/98/ME
boot disk but you can't read/wr<i></i>ite NTFS without Win<i></i>dow<i></i>s XP/2000 Pro boot
floppies.

As a rule you want Win<i></i>dow<i></i>s XP and Win<i></i>dow<i></i>s 2000 formatted NTFS so you
can use the security functions only an NTFS format can provide running
with Win<i></i>dow<i></i>s XP or Win<i></i>dow<i></i>s 2000 Pro.
Slaved drives don't need NTFS and an NTFS formatted operating system
can read/wr<i></i>ite both NTFS and FAT32 where as a FAT32 formatted operating
system can only read FAT32 and not NTFS.

Next time you ask for computer help you should say what operating system you
have. Also say weather you have HOME or PRO if running Win<i></i>dow<i></i>s XP.
