I was 1/2 watching it and when he was voted for soemthing prior I thought that was for the million. Then they went into all this other crap and the he ended up winning. I don't think there was ANY doubt that the Rupert was going to win.

Exactly. Every single show like this of note get's spoiled by some asswipe here that can't think enough to keep the result out of the title at least.

I always stay away until I've seen the show myself.

I think it's safe to say that if you want to be unspoiled, you should avoid GFY prior to any RTV show you watch. Some boards would reward spoilers with a public drawing-and-quartering, but that's not gonna happen here.

That said, technically, the thread title could be considered to be somewhat ambiguous...eg, "Rupert deserved it, so why did Rob win?"

But whatever. Go RUPERT!!! I'm so glad he won. I know it's what Burnett & Co. wanted, and Rupert's family truly needed it. Whether "need" = "deserves" is for another day. Let me repeat, Go RUPERT!!!
