Free Iraq but Not Tibet? Why is this?

Hmmm... That's a hard one to figure out.

We're all about bringing freedom to the oppressed, so why not Tibet? I already know the answer. What are your thoughts?

And what does Tibet offer us in return? They have no valuable natural resources, now do they?

And we do WAY too much trade with China, now don't we?

So, let's go after puny countries with no chance to defeat us. Then we can be just as brave as the "keyboard warriors" here on GFY.

Mr.Fiction 05-13-2004 05:00 PM

Neocons have no personal interest in that area?

Pretty clear, ain't it?

Aly-Python 05-13-2004 05:01 PM

It seems there's an awful lot about China that the current administration's willing to overlook in the interests of trade. Such a shame.

Isn't that interesting? All of our talk about bringing freedom to the world isn't worth the paper it's printed on if the oppressor is doing BILLIONS in trade with us, eh?

Holly 05-13-2004 05:12 PM

I blame Richard Gere.

MrIzzz 05-13-2004 05:14 PM

KRL 05-14-2004 12:21 AM

Yeh sure were going to go and piss off China. That's a real smart move in light of all the other shit we've gotten into already this year.

reynold 05-14-2004 12:27 AM

What does Tibet have to offer to US?

jas1552 05-14-2004 12:29 AM

China didn't invade a neighbor which led to a war with the world(pushed by the US), then lose the war and sign a ceasfire agreement, and then break the ceasefire agreement.

Apples and oranges.

webmaster x 05-14-2004 12:48 AM

I think we should free them both, we need some peace, even just for a short period of time.
