I want to add a 2nd hd to my pc
Yo check it out.....
I f i get a scsi controller for the second hd is this juicy? I will be doing some video work yoooo. Scsi gives me a hardon |
or should i just get another beefed up pc with alot of ram and beefy hd's?
|
I have no idea. My 2nd HD isn't SCSI.
|
Unless you use it as a server I see no need to use SCSI disks in a regular pc.
Regular HD's are fast enough. |

Is it better for the second HD to chain it on the same ribbon as the primary and make it a slave? Or get a external one and shit? |
I have a slave, and it's cool.
Dunno about other options. |
I have my newest computer setup using a SCSI drive..
Its just 36 GB, 10000 RPM.. I use it for the OS and install all my programs on that drive. I also have a 160 GB IDE drive for data. Seems to be pretty cool so far, but not reeally NECESSARY for everyone. :) |

You'll have no problems. |
And make sure the new disk isn't from teh brand Western Digital or seagate they are crap :D

It'll usually kill the performance of the HD connected to it. |
Go get a new PC :D

Juicy, it's really simple to add a second HD - just slave it to the first, and use the same ribbon cable, man. Both HDs will have a little diagram that tells you what the jumper settings need to be on the pins (found on the ass end, like the cable connections), so even a monkey like me can do it.
|
I would go with a 10k RPM S-ATA disk....you can find them with more then 120Gb of storage....they are as fast as a regular SCSI drive but with more storage
|
I use a slave and an external one, can't have enough disk space lol
