filed hit and run charges today
 

Went down to the conveniently located police station 2 blocks away, and filed a hit and run report against the dipshit that fucked up my door. Anyone know if the guy will get some kind of notice to appear?

I'm submitting a claim against the asshole's insurance in the morning. :Graucho

Deductable is like $100 or something low. That's not the point though, I shouldn't have to put this on my insurance. It's going on his, and his rates are going up. I'm not going to pay for this guy's neglegence.

File the claim with your insurance company. If you have full coverage your insurance company will do all the investigating for you. They may require you to temporarily pay your deductible as they investigate. Don't even bother going through his insurance because it will be a "he said she said" type deal.

Two hit and runs this year both not my fault. I just got my deductible back from the first one (Nov. 03') 2 weeks ago. The second one (Feb 1 04') took about 3 weeks to be resolved. First time around I paid the deductible on my repairs...second time around I waited out the three weeks it took to be resolved and drove around with a dent in my car.

Nope, never contacted me... and I gave him 24 hours to respond. Odd considering if he wasn't the one that hit me, I'm sure he would have called to say I was mistaken. Right now it appears he just wants to ignore it.

What confuses me is the fact that he knows I have the photos of his car w/ license plate number because I printed the pictures out with the note.
