10 million childred died of hunger last year
Imagine how many of them would have been saved with the money spent for this war.
|
Probably none of them. With no infrastructure and constant war, getting food to most of them isn't exactly easy. Plus, I don't think they appreciate the effort much anyway.

hey wait a minute there... 2500 decent and brave US citizens died on 9/11 ... Its way much worse! The proof is that they talked about it 24/7 for weeks on CNN...! :2 cents:

Yeh, I posted this in several threads. People flip out over one single guy getted his head whacked off. Meanwhile 35,000 children and 20,000 adults die of starvation every single day.
And in the time you read this thread another 24 just died. |

I say we level iraq and feed all the bodies to the starving children of the world! :thumbsup

Your comments in this thread is incredible. You don't deserve to have been born in a first world country, but unfortunately life is not fair. |
in a lot of poor countries they won't use birth control and then we're suppose to feed them?
sucks for the kids, that they're brought into this world. but anyways, the states are borrowing money to finance the war, iraq shouldn't have happened without UN support, but thats another story. it would be just as stupid(well slightly less stupid) to borrow money to feed other people's kids, especially when there's tons of homeless people in america. |

And these homeless people you talk about, who do you have to blame? Their own family? The government? |
Monsanto is ready to feed the world but people
are bitching about genetically modified organisms (GMO). The cure for world hunger has been there for six years but the tree-huggers don't want GMOs. Tell the tree-huggers to feed the starving children and do more reading to actually understand what GMOs can actually do. |
Think of how much money those 3000 Americans could have donated to charity if psychotic muslims hadn't murdered them.

you are attempting to say that the world woudl be better off if the money spent on war would be donated to help starving kids. well... the problem is not a lack of money where people are starving. the problems are usually people like Saddam Hussein or archaic beliefs and religions. give a man a fish... he will eat for a day. teach him to fish... he will eat for a lifetime. maybe the US just does not overthrow enough dictators. what is the problem in North Korea? no rice? or a Stalin-like communist whacko? will sending rice solve the problem? i would say that a few well aimed Tomohawks could solve a lot more than a few containers of rice could. |
Look at what Bush is spending on his campaign:

Have you seen the movie "Beyond borders"?
Granted it's not a master piece of cinematographic art, but it depicts really well the problem with helping starving people in the third world. It's not really the money or the food and supplies to help them that is missing, but rather the logistic to bring it there and the hinderance from local governments and warlords who each want a cut that is often so big that nothing is left for the truely needy people...:2 cents: |

Not to mention a real education for kids here in America.
We are producing nothing but a future generation of 3rd world workers so Nike can outsource work to California. |
