learning the basics is fairly quick mastering it will take a long time

With the right software, it's pretty easy to learn. I learned on my own.

It will take you about a day to get it down.

For mpeg videos:

Vegas Video for full editing

Cleaner XL for high quality multi format batch encoding
---
For ripping from DVD:

DVD Decrypter for ripping

MPG 2 AVI for DVD Format conversion

TMPEGenc for basic editing and MPEG conversion

If you already know your way around a computer then Video Editing should be easy. Most programs these days got easy frontends and gui. I remember back in the day when I had to use the DOS prompt for my video editing...

Damn times have really changed :helpme

I use a 17 inch powerbook (Mac) to do Video/DVD, it's really easy and fun.

You can learn how to encode and edit pretty quickly, but to learn how to do it well will take a year at least.

People will recommend software, how to do this... how to do that... software that does all the whole job in 30 minutes flat... and the results will be crap. Perhaps you won't notice it - UNTIL you learn how to do it properly, then you'll see.

From the original file to the downloadble file, I use 12 different programs, all of which I find to be essential. Fact of the matter is, you'll only learn how to do it well through trial and error and frustration - do it this way, do it that way, use this, use that - and that takes a long time.

With the right soft is easier.... you only have to be patient and setup a good machine if you pretend to edit high res videos...

Wow that is really weak, from DV tapes to Web Ready, all in iMovie.

Pornwolf 05-12-2004 06:54 PM

To get started 1 day. To do it well would take 2 months time. I haven't seen anything in porn, on the web or off, that requires skills you can't master in 2 months of practice.

sixone 05-12-2004 06:58 PM
