Dudn't look like Bush has a friend left except Rush Limbaugh and Clear Channel radio stations.

Dudn't matter, Bush will still win by a landslide.

Well the Vatican has big influence on Catholic faithed Americans. If the Vatican comes down hard on Bush he could stand to lose millions and millions of votes.

Yet that ain't gonna happen. With the tough economic times people have all got their money in oil related stocks even die-hard Catholics will ignore the Vatican to make sure their mortgages and hospital and college bills are paid.

That's what sucks.

sperbonzo 05-12-2004 10:18 AM

Classic! They had nothing to say about any attrocities going on in the world....from Hitler, and Stalin, to Cambodia, to Saddam, to almost everywhere in Africa.....for the last 60 years....

But now that there were some embarrising pics taken and these terrorist prisoners were humiliated (which I think was totally wrong)

NOW they speak up!

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

the guys who run their mouth the most on this board about politics, are probably not even old enough to vote, and if they are, its doubtful they will get off their ass and vote anyway.

Just a question......can you name a stock or an industry, including agriculture, that ISN"T oil related?

Go ahead, please! I would be fascinated to hear what you come up with:)

They are worried that torture will be connected with Christians just as tightly as it was during the Inquisition.

Is this the same Pope that watched and applauded "break dancers"? Now there is an atrocity.

The Vatican is always great at stating the obvious well after the fact.

I think every religion is in it for themselves. Why the hell would a Deacon in a Catholic church need an $80 million dollar estate to live in? Why is the Vatican adorned in gold? Why do Muslims believe that their god actually wants everyone dead, including themselves?

I am not religious in any way and I do not believe in a "higher power" dictating my life but it seems to me that the only religion out there that truly trys to teach peace without wealth is Budhism.

WTF are you talkin' bout Fletch? I've been through 8 Presidents already and met 5 personally.

Been through the Cold War, Vietnam War, Gulf War I, Gulf War II and now Iraq.

Puleeze.

Greg B 05-12-2004 10:33 AM

Sure I'll be the first to acknowledge the Catholic Church gets no brownie points on progressive thinking.

History shows over and over again that the Catholic Church is a vindictive institution toward anyone and anything it doesn't agree with.

From Capernicus to Galileo to Velikovsky, soon as someone comes up with a sane scientific explanation or discovery they'll either hahahahahahaha him or excommunicate him or her.

So basically their opinion is about as valuable to me as the Muppets discussing federal trade issues.

(actually I think the Muppets have more credibility than them. I apologize Miss Piggy, Kermit and Oscar the Grouch )
