support ticket from your host, how long?
 
how long would you say is acceptable to wait for hosting company support to sort out a problem or ticket?

Most of the ticket support systems have a label for the problem (normal, high importance etc.).

If its a big issue (server down etc) I expect an answer ASAP 1-6 hours. 6 being generous.

If its a general question 24 hours is normal I would guess.

With Cyberwurx, we've never had to wait....depending on the priority of the ticket...

With Mojohost, we've never had to wait, either.

Low: 24 hours.
Medium: 12 hours.
High: 4 hours.
Criticle: 1 hour.

Current host ussually beats those by at least 50% assuming its a wierd time of the night. If it is regular business hours then they respond in ussually 5 minutes or less for most issues.

if its an emergency, should be right away.


if its nothing urgent tickets usually being worked on in the count they were received, usually within 24 hours is acceptable.

Yes this was what I was getting at in my original response. Ticket Priority. ICQ support during waking hours is real nice as well.

Critical, from both of our hosts, has been under 15 minutes.

Really it depends on how much you pay per month.. if you pay a bottom basement price then your support will most likely be slower. :)
