A recent 'fatties' thread by me has been closed

Was I too offensive?

EviLGuY 05-11-2004 12:16 PM

Link the thread?

Its probably not the best idea to start a topic like this when you have a thread closed though.

detoxed 05-11-2004 12:17 PM

racist

Jakke PNG 05-11-2004 12:17 PM

Probably not. Not to me anyways, I just failed to see your point.
Medical reasons, not appereance?
What if a fat dude (like me) is 100% healthy?
I have good blood pressure, low cholesterol and so forth.
What's the reason to lose weight aside from public pressure to look good?

Babel 05-11-2004 12:18 PM

got a strike ?

It was deleted because of DB error, it wasn't closed.

what I wanted to say about this: Cosmetics are indeed no reason at all for me to be so hard against some obese people. If you're truly healthy and obesity doesn't restrict you in any field (social, physical, whatever), there is no reason for me at all to have any problems with your overweight. But you need to realise you still have a normal tension because you're still young. You're not diabetic, just because you're still young. You don't suffer from arthrosis, just because you're still young. Getting truly unhealthy is a process that takes many years.

Man, isn't that a HEALTHY approach :321GFY

Better to stay fat and be happy.

I am not fat, probably overweight, but as an ex-swimmer, boxer, footballer and still current gym-junkie, I can carry a few extra pounds because I am a big guy at 6'2" and 220 lbs.

I only still train so that I can smoke what I want, drink what I want and eat what I want and not give a fuck.

Oh, that and I like being able to kick the ass of guys half my age on the basketball court a couple of times a week.

A wise man once told me that the day you wake up and are GENUINELY happy with the way you look is the day you look the best in your life.

I have lived that attitude for years - and attitude far surpasses looks.

:2 cents:

Yeah, I understand your point. But I actually eat very healthy. Loads of fibers and a balanced menu, I don't eat out and I don't eat fast food more than once a month or so. I don't have time to exercise, I walk about 30 minutes daily with my dog that's all. I just don't lose weight. I'm only 25, so I'm not all together worried yet. I know it's the mother of all excuses, but I honestly do think I have a slow metabolism.. or low testosterone levels, some minor physical handicap that keeps putting weight on me. I am occasionally counting calories, carbs amount and types of fat I eat.. and usually I get around 1000-1200 calories per day, except on those days I decide to make a gourmet meal.. which is atleast weekly. But those are also well planned meals, not just fat and carbs.

I have been planning on going to a serious diet, but I do love food... so I have to see how the next decade shapes me, before making any rushed decisions ;)

:) . You indeed probably have a slower metabolism than I do, I am as fortunate as to have a body that doesn't gain weight whatever amounts of energy my intake accounts to. It's actually not something for me to do, to tell you anything about weight. Yet I really would advise you to do some training. Why not? I can't believe time can be an excuse. Working out can feel wonderful and relaxing. Maybe the time spent after the workout is even filled out more efficiently?

Basic_man 05-11-2004 12:53 PM

Maybe! What you think? :D
