Shitty fuckin news, and I don't know how to deal with it

This morning I accompanied a close friend to the doc for some "routine crotch exam", to check up on a possible infection.

An additional breast exam yielded the following result: a fuckin' lump. Further examination will show if it's cancerous or just a cyst.

Goddamnit, the bad news just keep on piling up these days, shit. :Oh crap

DaddyHalbucks 05-11-2004 09:10 AM

Roald 05-11-2004 09:10 AM

Just a little story to *hopefully* make you feel better, and I will make it quick.

My mom found a lump 6 years ago.
Did the test - it was cancer.
Removed some lymph nodes - it hadn't spread yet.
She went through a few months of radiation. Nothing major, just like a sunburn on her boob. She said radiation wasn't bad at all.

6 years later, she still has a clean bill of health.

Good luck to your friend.:thumbsup

If it turns out to be cancer DO NOT let her follow the doctors advice. Cancer treatment in this country is a fucking scam that kills more people than it saves. Doctors do not know how to cure anything, they only treat symptoms.

Last year they found a 9.5 cm tumor in my kidney that appeared to have spread to my liver. They wanted to remove my kidney and part of my liver and even then told me there was only a 5% survival rate. After doing a lot of research I concluded that I was better off going a natural alternative route. The doctor told me I was a fool and said I would be dead within 6 months. Now the tumor is gone and I feel better than I've felt in a long time.

Sorry to hear that! I know when it rains, it pours!

Doc911 05-11-2004 10:02 AM

I had a girlfriend that went to the doctor once because she felt 5 lumps in her breasts.

The doctor told her not to worry to much they were just her ribs.

My ex had a lump removed from her breast when she was 17... It was about the size of a golf ball. It turned out to be a non-cancerous syst, plus she had an excellent top notch surgeon who did a clean operation with no scarring at all.

stev0 05-11-2004 11:02 AM

chances are it's nothing...

jhauser 05-11-2004 11:03 AM

Lots the lumps prove to be non cancerous... I hope for the best.

Theo 05-11-2004 11:11 AM

best wishes for your friend

You have my sympathies. Breast cancer is a terrible thing, my mom is fighting it right now. I hope it turns out to be nothing but keep us posted :)
