I know i'll sound like a newb but...
If someone can spare a few moments of their time, i am having W.I.N.D.O.W.S messenger startup at the sametime as my system.
it stays hidden though so i cant see it. does anyone know how to shut it off? so it only ever turns on, when i turn it on? i remember something about component services or something, i dont pretend to be techie though come on help a brotha out? :) |
Go into set up and uncheck the load on start hahahahahahas option.

Control Panel. Administrative Tools. Services. Select Messenger on the right. Right Click and select Properties. Service Status - Stop Start up Type - Dissabled. |

Okay here is what you do to stop and siable the messenger service the correct way.
1) Click the start menu and choose "Run" 2) In the little box, type services.msc and then press Ok. 3) A program will open up called services. Switch to it.. make it full screen and go down the list untill you see a service called Messenger. 4) Right click on the messenger service and choose properties. 5) A new win.dow will open.. in this win.dow first press stop and then once it stops, choose DISABLED under startup type (its a little pull down menu just above the start and stop buttons. 6) Press Ok, and then close out of the services program and you are DONE. |
