What is the most disturbing movie you have ever watched? I'm about to sit down with a steak and some fries and watch The Exorsist (however the fuck you spell that.)

Hell yeah. I didn't let my woman out of my sight for weeks after seeing that.

I'd vote "House of the Dead". I was extremely disturbed that I actually paid money to see that celluloid travesty.:feels-hot

I'd say Vulgar.

I have yet to watch the Exorcist, and Seven was fucking brilliant, but Vulgar was just plain uncomfortable.

Finding Nemo

erehwon 05-09-2004 01:51 AM

The Chekist

Friends have seen it, and tell me its one of the most disturbing movies they have seen, but a must see movie, the critics loved it, gave it five stars. I'm disturbed by reading the review. :(

This disturbing Russian drama shows the Bolshevik "revolution" for what it really was: a merciless and cruel counter-revolutionary coup d'etat by a group of egalitarian zealots who were willing to slaughter any enemy (real or imagined) who stood in their way. Lenin's Bolshevik regime was the 20th century's first totalitarian "terror-state," who's blueprint would be copied again and again by Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot and Saddam Hussein. Many will be shaken by this film, as it shows mass execution after mass execution of innocent victims (Christians, workers, aristocrats, even Jews), who were forced to strip naked before being murdered in cold blood. The first reviewer was right - this film does shame Hollywood, who are constantly rubbing our noses in the evils of Fascism but completely ignore the bloody deeds committed by the Communists.

AnalProbe 05-09-2004 03:33 AM

The most terrible movie : Holocaust (1 & 2).

Gas chambers, burning people alive, experiments with children.

Scary thing is that it happened for real, and you only see a part of it.

CamChicks 05-09-2004 03:59 AM

I can't recall a movie ever 'disturbing' me . . but if disturbing means gory/gross . . maybe the first hour of 'Cabin Fever' ? (before it fell apart in the end) . . . . 'Battle Royale' had a lot of kids killing eachother . . . . and, um . .'The Hills Have Eyes' is looking a bit dated now (but still good) . . 'Wrong Turn' had some sick scenes . . 'Audition' . . . 'The Eye' . . ah, fuck, I must be too desensitized, I can't think of anything I've seen in a movie that bothered me. I thought 'Hearts In Atlantis' and 'Big Fish' were both sad films. 'Once Were Warriors' . . . 'Kids' . . . 'Rules of Attraction' . . fit somewhere in there. . . I dunno, what I see on the news and tv political shows freaks me out more.

Jakke PNG 05-09-2004 04:05 AM

Disturbing = Brain dead and Bad taste
Scary = The shining, atleast it was to a 10 years old, god I was afraid to walk home from a friends house where I watched it.. in the winter, through a patch of park. I'm traumatized for life.

Stephen king has some other wicked movies too..
