The definitive AG/SigMonkey thread - Falsely disabled by GoDaddy for spam
 

Here are the facts.

1. GoDaddy suddenly put our domain on ns*.suspended-for.spam-and-abuse.com, and told us that they had received a request for it to be done.

"<i>Dear Valued Go Daddy Customer, This notification is generated automatically as a service to you. We have received a request that the NAME SERVERS be changed to: ns1.suspended-for.spam-and-abuse.com ns2.suspended-for.spam-and-abuse.com for the following domain name(s): ADULTGODS.COM </i>"

2. Because the domain from which SigMonkey operates (adultgods.com) has been temporarily diabled, SigMonkeys do not work. They will not track or show any stats whatsoever until the domain AdultGods.com has been either restored by GoDaddy or transferred to another registrar.

3. We are confused, as we don't spam or otherwise abuse our privileges. However, we have found the most plausible cause;

4. AG has a script shop section in which it sells a few scripts of use to webmasters. One of these scripts is Reffy, a referrer spamming script. A referrer spamming script is a script that visits a bunch of sites for no purpose other than getting their owner's referrer (fake or not) in the logs, for traffic and extra Google PR.

Now, this is essentially a bot, and the DEFAULT USER-AGENT of this bot has always been "AdultGods.com," to demonstrate to clients that they can change this to whatever they want.

5. Searching Google for pages containing the word "adultgods.com" reveals evidence of a mass Reffy onslaught. Certainly, it could look like AdultGods.com is spamming, at first glance, but in reality, it is caused by Reffy-using people who have forgotten that they can also change the user-agent of the bot to whatever they like, and thus automatically use the default "AdultGods.com" user-agent.

6 <b>We are mad as hell for the stupidity of GoDaddy, and their apparent willingness to take offensive action against a paying client on the basis of ONE, UNINVESTIGATED REQUEST.</b>

7. <b>We are trying to transfer the domain to NameCheap, so that our site (and with it, SigMonkey) come back up. Please have patience.</b>

GoDaddy can fuck off i got letter from them that from 20 may they will not support anymore members from the country that i leave .. bastards i need to move my ass and transfer all my domains to another register
